The words Jordan said in the elevator that
day left me unsettled.
Even today, thinking about it made my
heart race.
But I was still hesitating.
At the hospital, I held a diagnosis report from the gynecology department.
Then I spotted Jordan.
The name on the tip of my tongue was swallowed back down.
He didn’t notice me and was with a girl.
She was nothing like me.
Her smile was warm and she radiated positivity, whereas I tended to stay in the background.
Jordan’s gaze was fixed on her, filled with tenderness.

observer.
I didn’t know what the girl said to him, but Jordan shot a cold glance at me, as if he wished I would just disappear.
He had never looked at me like this, not even before I broke up with Kian.
“Asshole. Liar.”
Tears blurred my vision. I took a deep breath and turned to leave. Suddenly, a hand grabbed my wrist.
“What asshole, what liar.”
“Of course, she’s talking about you!”
The girl ran over to me, defending me.
“Brother, you must have done something to upset your girlfriend! Audrey, don‘ t forgive him so easily.”
I stood stunned.
His sister?

Jordan shoved what he was holding into
her arms and pretended to be mad.
“Go back by yourself. You talk too much.”
His sister, Hailey Gregory, watched me in
amazement.
“Audrey, my brother has had feelings for you for a long time. It’s great to finally meet you.”
Jordan slapped her forehead.
The next second, she bolted away.
Still thinking about what Hailey had just said, I didn’t notice Jordan had come up
beside me.
“Why are you at the hospital? Are you not feeling well? Why didn‘ t you tell me? Why didn’t you call me earlier?”
Jordan’s string of questions left me dazed.
Suddenly, he snatched the report from my
hands.

“Gynecology… are you…?”
He stared at me in shock, and then his face brightened with excitement.
Acting like a goof, he crouched down in front of me, pressing his face close to my stomach.
I noticed people around us starting to look over, so I quickly hauled him up.
“I’m not pregnant!”
In the car, Jordan still looked upset.
He had jumped to conclusions about me being pregnant without even properly looking at the report.
Yet this made me find him somewhat endearing for the first time.
As soon as we got out of the car, Kian showed up out of nowhere.
Without a word, he punched Jordan in the face.
“Is this what you call a good friend? By

stealing my girlfriend?”
Jordan staggered from the blow, and I quickly helped him stay upright.
Kian was still angry, trying to hit Jordan again.
I stood in front of Jordan.
“We’ve already broken up!”
I almost yelled these words out to Kian.
No matter how many times I said it, Kian seemed to ignore that we were no longer together.
“Don’t blame him; I started it first.”
Kian stood there, looking disbelieving, with red–rimmed eyes.
He still tried to reach out for my hand but was knocked down by Jordan.
Jordan, who had been trained in boxing since childhood, easily overpowered Kian.
“Audrey, please don t go,” Kian pleaded

from the ground, looking up at me with a desperate expression.
Jordan turned his head, waiting for my
response.
“Sorry, I already have a boyfriend.”
I took Jordan‘ s hand and headed home.
“So, does this mean you‘ re admitting it now? If you‘ re only saying that to get back at him because I got beat up, then…”
He was rambling on and on.
I silenced him with a kiss, and before he could react, he pulled me closer, his hands finding their way around my neck.
The temperature between us definitely
rose.
After he let go, he still couldn’t resist asking.
He finally let go, but couldn’t resist asking, “So you really care about me?”

sincerity.
It made me realize that I had given him too many doubts.
I stared at Jordan earnestly and said clearly,
“I care about you, Jordan Gregory.
The next moment, he pulled me into a tight embrace.
Kian came around again after that.
Jordan wanted to go out and have another fight, but I stopped him.
There was no need to get your hands dirty with people like that.
I called the police instead.
They took Kian away for harassment, and he never came back.
I thought he might be scared of the police. Later, I found out it was because of
business dealings between the Gregory family and the Anderson family.
