Chapter 64
Third POV
The door opened, and Ingrid stepped in, holding a package. She approached, only stopping when she got to the desk. Imela looked up, placing the pen on the file she was reviewing. Ingrid handed her the pack holding the file, and Imela took and pulled out the recorder she had requested from the restaurant yesterday.
She glanced up at Ingrid and asked, “This is it, right?”
Ingrid nodded. “Yes, Ms. Garcia. This is the confirmed audio. It came in a minute ago.”
“Good. You know what to do.” She said, handing the package back to Ingrid after returning the recorder inside.
Imela had explained in detail how it should go and why it was best if the recorder stayed with her until the right time came. This was all according to plan.
Ingrid paused and turned to her after getting to the door. “Are you sure about this?” She held a worried look on her face. “If you take this step, there is no turning back. I do not want you to get hurt.”
Imela met Ingrid in the hospital in Madrid, where she stayed a week after Marcel saved her life. Ingrid had been involved in an accident while fleeing from her abusive parents and was brought there. They met on chance while Imela was using the restroom, and they became friends.
Imela didn’t think she had it in her to form friendships with anyone after what Cecil did to her, but with Ingrid, it was easy.
When it was time for Imela to leave, Ingrid insisted she would come with her. Imela told her they were still strangers, and while Ingrid agreed with her, she insisted she would take her chances with Imela over her parents.
When Imela was leaving Madrid months ago, she thought Ingrid would stay back, but she told her that wherever she went, she would follow. The younger lady had repeatedly proven herself, and Imela couldn’t deny her.
She didn’t know much about anything, and Imela believed that would lessen her guilt when it all unfolded. It’s been months, and Ingrid has aided in many missions without asking questions. She trusted Imela completely, and she made sure she was okay with whatever assignments she gave her. When some were too difficult, Imela did them herself. Dating Zion was one of the more difficult ones.
Seeing Ingrid express worry, she told her it was time to pull Ingrid out of the mission. Once she delivers this package, she will no longer be involved. This was her fight, after all, and she didn’t need to drag

everyone into it.
Imela smiled. “I am certain about this. I have thought about it and realised this is what want to do th not worry; I will be fine.” She answered.
Ingrid nodded and walked away, having no further questions.
Imela picked up her phone to dial Zion’s number but decided against it and instead texted him

With the message sent, she carried on with the rest of her day, attending to the clients who had booked an appointment with them.
Marlo was right; the United States had the best markets if strategy was considered in the last fe months, they have experienced success in their outreach to collapsing companies. Some others reached out to them for financial advice and a way out.
It was surprising what people would do when they were at a loss.
The Gutman brothers, who ran Rainy, a company that dealt with protection clothing, came over to the Garcia group following Imela’s invitation. She explained their offers to them, and her phone rang a fer times, but knowing who it was, she didn’t answer.
“We will be in touch,” Niall Gutman said as he rose with his two brothers.
“Should I expect a call from you then?” Imela asked, rising as well
They had started this conversation not looking very optimistic, but that wasn’t the case anymore.
He nodded firmly. “Definitely, Ms. Garcia.” He offered a hand for a shake, and Imela took it.
She also shook hands with the other two before they left.
An hour passed by, and Imela returned to the office to speak with the Garcia Group lawyer, Harrison Mars, going over the agreed–upon contract with Plane Enterprise.
“It needs to be the thirtieth because then it would become four months and that in a few days. Without meeting the agreed–upon percentage refunds, you have every right to terminate your contract with them without any legal backlash. This also gives you the right to make decisions the same way a CEO does. They can either agree to your demands or risk you abandoning the agreement completely. The odds aren’t in their favour, and they will not risk losing you.” He broke it down nicely, adding, “Pardon my

language, but with this, you now have them by the balls, Ms Garcia.”
“You schote, let me through” need to see her “Imela glanced up and found Zion struggling with Benjamin, and his efforts were pathetic at best. “That’s my girlfriend, god damnit.”
She ended the call, knowing that if she sat end did nothing, Zion would create a scene. She knew it would

She went out to the hallway, where Zion still struggled with Benjamin.
“What do you want, Zion? She demanded, with an offended voice, on getting close,
He stopped struggling and stepped back. “He wouldn’t let me in, baby,” he said before turning to Benjamin to growl at him. “I will have you arrested.”
Benjamin looked the least terrified at his words.
“They didn’t let you in because you didn’t have an appointment, and I am not your baby,” she corrected
him.
“I got your text.” He began in a soft tone. “Tell me what you think I did, and I will make it right. Do not break up with me.” He pleaded, taking a step forward, but Benjamin stretched his hand to stop him, and Zion flared up, shooting daggers with his eyes at the bigger man.
“I cannot be with someone who thinks his customers are pigs and leaches.” She said, reminding him of his words three days ago at dinner. It wasn’t his first time speaking poorly about his customers and those he worked with, but it was the one she needed to make her move with.
His eyes pale, knowing what she meant. “I didn’t mean that; it was all a joke. You know how jokes are. It’s nothing to take to heart, baby.”
“You shouldn’t joke about some things, Mr Stiles, and I am not your baby.” She answered, not buying his excuses. “Show yourself a little respect and leave, Mr. Stiles.”
“August,” he called after her even as she turned and took her leave.
“You need to leave, Mr. Stiles,” Benjamin said.
“Do not put your filthy hands on me, or you will regret it, you fucking asshole.” He snarled out bef calling out calmly but desperately, “Baby.”
Imela didn’t bother looking back at him because she knew she had finished his chapter.
The next chapter was about Oliver Plane, and everything was in place.
