Chapter 66
Oliver hadn’t seen her since he confronted her about her relationship with Zion over a month ago. She hadn’t come to the company, and instead, she sent Ingrid to carry out her duties, stressing that her PA
was more than capable.
At first, he thought that was unprofessional and emailed her concerning it. She referred him to the agreement, which stated that for the first two months, she would oversee the implementations, and that would change after the third month. From the third month, the overseeing would be carried out with someone from the Garcia group team. In the Plane Enterprise case, Imela had spent roughly four months, superseding the time she had stated in the agreement. Oliver had no more quarrel and wondered why he
never saw it.
Ingrid knew precisely what to do, and he wondered if she was just a P.A. as she posed to be with Imela. She came to assist yesterday and stayed until closing. She was very business–minded and kept everything professional, just like Imela would.
Seeing her here now was a surprise to Oliver. Whatever was happening with the staff members today
had a lot to do with her presence. He wanted to know what she wanted and why she was in his seat.
Even though the board reinstated Robb as CEO, Oliver got to keep the office as Robb didn’t care about
where he sat and decided as long as he was involved in everything. That was his seat, and she had no
reason to be there.
He walked into his office and pushed the door open. “What is going on here? What did you do to cause such disorientation amongst the staff members, and why are you in my seat?” He walked in, already
demanding answers.
She set her pen down and glanced at him to acknowledge his presence. “You didn’t get the email?” She inquired, and her eyes narrowed at him.
“What email?” He demanded, not understanding anything that had been happening since he got here,
and it was getting to him.
“The one Robert Plane sent out last night announcing me as the new CEO.” She answered as if it were
something so simple.
He wanted to laugh, but she wasn’t laughing. “Is this a joke?” he frowned at her. “Is this some fucking
joke?!” he exclaimed, losing control.
Robb had been CEO for four months, and he assured Oliver that his role would be temporary until the Plane Enterprise found its place in the big leagues again. That’s the plan. He had gone along with Robb’s position as temporary CEO because it was for the greater good and the betterment of the Plane Enterprise. Imela taking over from Robb and running the Plane Enterprise was never part of the fucking

plan. It left him with no card to play and no say. He felt cheated, and it wasn’t fair.
She didn’t respond to his cussing; instead, she focused on what she had to say. “As of this morning, I took over the control of the Plane Enterprise through percentage shares.” She said that and pushed the files on
her desk over to him.
He picked it up, and there was the signature of Robb consenting to the new change. He took a minute to read through before his anger got the best of him, and he slammed the file on the table. “What fuck is this, Ela?” he demanded, staring her dead in the eyes.
“First, it is Ms. García to you, and second, this is what happens when you fail to meet the percentage in our agreement.” Her calmness angered him.
“We stuck to our line, and we did everything right?”
“Then why did I get three per cent less than the agreed–upon percentage four months in a row?”
He stood lost as to how that could have happened when they had religiously kept to the percentage she agreed upon.
“You said it was seven per cent returns every month until the loan is paid,” he reminded her.
She had said that when she proposed a four–month agreement before settling for seven.
She agreed with him. “I did, and I said there would be an adjustment after we extended the deal to seven months with a slight increase. It is not my fault your team didn’t read the contract you signed.”
His teeth clenched; this was her plan all along, and standing here now, he saw it. They all played into it, and though it took a while, her goal remained the same: to crush the Planes under her foot.
“This is not about the percentage; this has never been about the percentage. You returned to destroy me; this was your plan, and we were too blind to see you. You played us all with your offer. We were all fools in your schemes to destroy us.” This was what she did to Cecil; in her case, she bought the company and fired her. “This was your manipulation tactic. You never helped anyone.”
She rose to her feet. “I would tread with care if I were you, Mr. Plane. There is still a saving grace for you, but it is hanging by a thread. Act recklessly, and you lose it.”
“Lose what? You wanted to see me on my knees, and now you have.”
“I have said this before, and I will say it again; everything isn’t about you, Mr. Plane,” she said, but he wasn’t done speaking.
“You are cruel, and I should have known you could never be trusted. I was a fool to think you had changed.”

Something ticked off within her at his words, and she had a furious look on her face as she stared at him. “No amount of destruction would amount to what you did to me or what you and your family took from me. I have no reason to change because I did nothing wrong.”
“You whored yourself to my brother! You cheated on me and broke our marriage vows! You are not the victim; you make yourself out to be here!” He exploded on her, not caring who heard or who was seeing, “Mother was right; we should never have trusted you.”
Her teeth gritted, and the fight to keep herself under restraint showed on her face. “I gave my word to Robb that I wouldn’t fire you, and I intend on keeping it.”
“Your word doesn’t mean a goddamn thing.” He bit out and turned to walk away.
“Where are you going?” she asked.
He paused. “You might be the boss here, but you are not the boss of me.” He said and stormed out of the office. He left the company without glancing back.
