STOP ME
LAURA
I jumped up as the door to Jess’s room swung open, slamming against the wall. My heart shot into my throat as Josh stepped inside, water still glistening on his skin, a towel slung dangerously low on his hips.
“Josh!” I squeaked, heat rushing to my face.
“What the hell are you doing in here?” I screeched, my voice breaking slightly.
Josh didn’t flinch. He didn’t even blink. He just stood there, water dripping from his damp hair, his hands planted firmly on his hips.
“What are you doing in my room?” he countered, his voice calm but edged with something I couldn’t quite place.
My stomach flipped as my eyes flicked downward despite myself. The towel clung to him, outlining everything, including the evidence of whatever he’d been doing in the shower. Heat crept up my neck, my cheeks burning as I forced myself to look
away.
“What–what are you talking about?” I stammered, backing up a step.
Josh’s eyes narrowed slightly, his smirk growing. “What did you see, Laura?” he asked, his voice low and smooth, each word deliberate.

“Nothing!” I blurted out, the lie tumbling out of my mouth before I could think. “I promise I didn’t see anything!”
Josh took a step closer, his smirk deepening. “I think you’re lying, Laura.” His tone was almost playful, but there was something dangerous about it too. “You’re a very bad liar.”
My back hit the dresser, and I realized too late that I had nowhere else to go. Josh was in front of me now, his body towering over mine, his proximity making it impossible to think straight.
“I–I’m not lying!” I protested weakly, my voice barely a whisper.
Josh leaned down, his face inches from mine. “Did you like what you saw?” he asked, his voice a low rumble that sent a shiver down my spine.
My breath hitched. Did I like it? Of course I did. How could I not? But there was no way I was admitting that.
“I didn’t see anything,” I mumbled, my voice trembling.
Josh tilted his head, his smirk turning into something darker, something hungrier. “I don’t believe you.”
His hand came up, brushing against the edge of my tank top, and my entire body tensed. His touch was light, barely there, but it sent a jolt of electricity through me.
“Josh,” I breathed, my voice shaky.
“I was thinking about you,” he said suddenly, his voice dropping even lower.
My eyes widened, my heart skipping a beat. “What?”

“In the shower,” he continued, his eyes locked on mine. “I was thinking about you. About how it would feel to bury myself inside you. To drive you into oblivion while you screamed my name.”
My knees went weak, my breath catching in my throat. His words were so dirty, so raw, and yet my body responded to them instantly.
I didn’t know what to say, didn’t know what to do. All I knew was that I couldn’t look away from him, couldn’t stop the heat
pooling in my core.
Josh’s hand slid up, his fingers grazing my shoulder and brushing against my neck. “Tell me to stop,” he murmured, his lips so close to mine that I could feel his breath.

“Tell me to leave,” he said, his voice rough. “Because if you don‘ t, I’m going to drag you back to my room and make you scream my name until you can’t think straight.”
”
I swallowed hard, my heart pounding in my chest. His words were intoxicating, his presence overwhelming.
“Josh…”
“Say it,” he whispered, his lips brushing against my ear. “Tell me to stop, Laura.”
I couldn’t.
I didn’t want to.
Instead, I stayed silent, my hands gripping the edge of the

dresser as I struggled to catch my breath.
Josh’s hand moved to my jaw, tilting my face up to meet his gaze. His eyes burned with intensity, his desire written all over his face.
“You’re not saying it,” he said, his voice laced with amusement and something else, something deeper.
“Because I don’t want to,” I admitted, the words tumbling out before I could stop them.
Josh’s smirk returned, but this time it was softer, almost tender. “Good,” he murmured.
And then his lips were on mine.
The kiss was fierce, demanding, and I couldn’t do anything but give in. His hands were everywhere–on my waist, my hips, my back–pulling me closer, pressing me against him until there was no space left between us.
My own hands moved without thinking, sliding up his chest and tangling in his damp hair. His skin was warm, his muscles hard beneath my touch, and I couldn’t get enough of him.
Josh groaned against my lips, the sound vibrating through me and setting my nerves on fire. His kiss deepened, his tongue exploring my mouth with a hunger that made my head spin.
I couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think. All I could do was feel–feel him, feel his hands on my body, feel the way he pressed against me, hard and unyielding.
When he finally pulled back, I was gasping for air, my chest

heaving as I tried to steady myself.
Josh rested his forehead against mine, his breathing just as ragged. “You drive me crazy,” he whispered, his voice raw and honest.
I couldn’t respond. I couldn’t do anything but look up at him, my heart pounding in my chest.
What the hell had just happened?
