The shock washed over Brianna, Vivian, and Brandon like a tidal wave. None of them has seen his coming.
Brianna screamed at the top of her voice as she tightened her arm around Emily, who was also in shock at Alexander’s words.
Vivian jumped up and rushed up to his brother, hugging him tightly and followed by Emma. “Thank you.” She whispered. Although she has never complained before, she has always wanted nieces and nephews, and all along they had been here without her knowledge.
Ethan rushed up to Alexander, his puppy doe eyes looking up at Mr. Handsome, the man he had randomly met at the airport just months ago. He couldn’t believe Alexander’s words, but the happy look in his mother’s eyes says it all.
“Are you really our daddy?” Ethan asked with a hint of fear in his tone. He hoped this wasn’t a prank on his sister and him. “I really am.” Alexander replied and lifted him up in the air into his arms. “Dad is sorry for showing up late.” Ethan shrieked. His voice echoed down the hallway. All this while he has been so close to his father and yet so far away.
Tears rolled down his eyes.
Alexander walked up to his mother and lifted Emily into his other arm. She was also so happy, although she couldn’t express herself the same way her brother could. “Don’t you ever leave us again, Daddy.” She said in almost a whisper, tears rolling down her cheeks.
“I won’t. I promise.” Alexander replied, and his last thread of control broke, and he couldn’t help as tears began to roll down his cheeks.
