Chapter 20
Luke threw him a disgusted look. He walked away briskly.
Night fell, and a black, four–doored coupe arrived at Leicester Hotel.
The doors opened, and three people got out one after another.
“Wait for me.” Sarah Bronson caught Trevor White’s armi.
Trevor pulled out his art from hers. He entered the hotel alone.
There wasn’t anything she could do as she watched her fiance behave so coldly toward her. She told Luke, who was at her side. T’m so tired, but I’m engaged now. There’s no turning back
“So you choose to compromise your feelings, Luke commented calmly.
“What can I do besides that?” Sarah was on the verge of tears again. “He’s my fiance. I have kept him company years. What else can I do besides wait for him to fall in love with me and marry me? I’m already 27 years old.”
Luke couldn’t understand her.
“Luke, you’ll understand me once you find someone you fall for Sarah left.
He thought, “Falling for someone?”
Luke frowned deeply.

Camille stepped outside the restaurant after changing out of her uniform. She saw Luke and immediately prepared to run away like a startled deer.
“Stop!”
He spoke in a cold voice. Camille was disheartened. She pretended not to have heard him.
The voice sounded again. “Stop!”
“Why are you only just leaving? Luke glanced at his wristwatch,
Camille rubbed her nose. She didn’t dare to look him in the eye. We were busy setting up for the venue, so we had to work
overtime.”
Luke didn’t say anything. One of his hands was tucked into his trousers.
“Sorry, I need to catch the bus.” Camille took a big step back and walked away.
Her toes were in massive pain. She had to find a clinic on her way home. It felt like there was blood in her shoe. Rachelle had kept a tight watch on her, so she didn’t find the time to treat her foot.
She was limping. Her bag and ponytail wobbled with every step she took.
As soon as she reached the main road, a car pulled up beside her. The car blocked her way domineeringly, just like its owner.
“Get in,” Luke said with a tone that almost sounded like an order
Camille shook her head in shock. She didn’t want to get in at all.
Luke’s dazzling gaze pierced her. “Don’t make me repeat myself. Or would you prefer it if I carry you over my shoulders?”

Luke asked it in a way that made others believe he would definitely abide by his word.

Camille took a deep breath and surveyed her surroundings. There was no guarantee that she would win if she continued to resist. She got into the car.
Take the front seat.” Luke continued his orders.
Camille’s hand, which was reaching for the back door, paused. She stared at the car. “There’s no need.”
“You’ll be car sick.” Luke looked at her silhouette through the car’s mirror.
“How did you…” Camille was surprised.
“Just a guess.” Playfulness sparkled in his dark eyes.
Luke opened the front door.
“What’s wrong with your foot?” Luke asked her as he drove
“Nothing” Camille sat obediently in the front passenger seat.
“Is that so, Luke remarked offhandedly
Camille Auddenly noticed that Luke relied on the GPS navigation system when he drove.
Didn’t he have a sense of direction!
He kept driving until he saw a spot–check ahead.
Camille looked at what he was looking at. There were too many accidents recently.
Pull up ahead,” Camille said.
“Stop? You can’t reverse on this road” Luke said in a tone that suggested he took her for a fool.
Camille raised her voice slightly. Tm not asking you to reverse I telling you to pull up and let me drive. You’ve had a drink, haven’t you?”
“How did you know? Luke didn’t remember himself being in close proximity to her.
Camille said shyly, “I’m very sensitive to smells, especially those of tobacco and alcohol” Luke nodded. He pulled up at the side of the road, and the two exchanged their seats.
“Do you know how to drive? Luke found it hard to believe. No matter how he looked at her, she didn’t look like someone who knew how to drive.
Camille familiarized herself with the driving interface. She then started the engine and started driving. “I haven’t driven this kind of high–class car before. However, I drove vans around when I was delivering food around Glondom. Sometimes I would drive my boss’s car with automatic transmission too. I’m not used to this car, but I can drive slowly. There won’t be any problem.”
Her tone was gentle and warm. There was a smile on her face. Luke was slightly stunned. How could a girl talk about this kind of history so easily
Luke sized Camille up. Her hands were snow–white. Her arms looked as though they would snap as easily as a twig Her slender figure made him remember the night five years ago.
Her back was thin. Her neck was snow–white. Her ponytail was and very loosely. There were always a few stray strands of

hair. A girl like her…
“Your neck is beautiful, Luke blurted suddenly.
Camille felt blood rush to her face. She gave a hollow laugh. “It’s not.”
“It is Luke looked outside the window.
Camille felt a wave of sadness,
Luke suddenly asked, “Why were you driving a van for others when you were in Glondom?”
Camille was pulled back from her thoughts. “Life forced me to.
The spot–check didn’t check each and every car. Luke’s car passed through successfully.

Camille chose to stop a distance away from her home. She got out of the car. Luke got in the driver’s seat. He stared at her foot. “Are you sure you’re ok?”
Camille nodded. Luke drove away.
“How did you injure your foot so badly?” The clinic staff member was cleaning her wound with cotton dipped in antiseptic alcohol
There was a lot of blood in her shoe. There was a lot of blood on her toes too. Her big toe was broken.
Ouch.” The cotton touched her wound, and Camille put her finger in her mouth in pain.
“What happened?”
Suddenly, she heard the voice of a man who was suppressing his anger.
Camille turned around and almost fell from the bed in shock.
“Sir. you…
The clinic staff looked at Luke. His tall stature coupled with his cold expression produced an overbearing aura.
Luke looked at the wound on her foot and the blood in her shoe He couldn’t help but frown. He looked up again and saw her wincing in pain. A sense of pity welled up inside him.
“Don’t bite your finger. He softened his voice and slowly put his thumb next to her pink tender lips. Camille trembled. She didn’t actually bite her own finger earlier. It was just that the sight of her mangled, broken big toe scared her. She wasn’t made of stone, nor was she a robot. She had no relatives, so she had to take care of herself.
Biting her finger was just something she did subconsciously out of fear and loneliness.
She looked down at the finger that he placed beside her lips. She didn’t bite because it was his funger.
She didn’t expect him to return, nor did she think that he would follow her.
