Chapter 21
On her way to work the next day, Camille wore a pair of sandals at showed her toes.
“Where is Kim?” Camille didn’t see her.
When Jenna saw her looking for Kim, she said in a fit of anger, “Are you still looking for her? She’s the one that caused you to hurt your toes. Someone saw it and informed Mr. Tate. The president happened to be there too.
Camille asked, “How long has she been away?”
“About 20 minutes”
“Oh, what are you doing there?”
Nobody thought to answer her. Camille stumbled her way toward the building
“Sorry, but I have something urgent to tell the president.” Camille nodded politely at the secretary and walked toward the
CEO’s office.
The secretary followed her. Camille pushed open the ajar door.
“Sorry, sir, but I couldn’t stop her,” the secretary said with a pained look.
Canaille didn’t want to bother arguing with the evil–minded secretary,
“You’ve come at the right time. How’s your foot? Did she cause you to hurt your foot?” Adam didn’t look so well.
Camille said nothing,
Adam raised a brow. “Someone there saw her hurting your foot, She’s already been fired by Luke. You have nothing to worry about now.”
“Fired?”
Camille threw a look at Luke, who had remained silent and indifferent the whole time.
“Why don’t you guys leave? Luke motioned for Adam to leave with Kim.
The large office now only had the two of them left. Camille looked somewhat uneasy.
“President, this has nothing to do with Kim.” She felt the need to say something if Kim was fired because of her..
“I was just looking out for you.” Luke was infuriated. This woman always put on a look that put people off.
Camille hurriedly explained with a frown, “But it wasn’t Kim’s fault. She had nothing to do with it.”
She could bear the pain on her body because she didn’t want to mess with the one who had an evil intention to hurt her. Rachelle’s hatred for her was well justified.
It was anyone’s guess who exactly was to blame for this. Everyone had their own complaint, Rachelle only hated to deal with -the man that was in front of her.
If Kim was fired because of her, she couldn’t convince herself to stay there anymore.
Luke had never had anyone passing judgment on him.
His lips were tightly closed. His prominent features looked gloomy. Those deep–set eyes were teeming with anger.

Chapter 21
He took one step forward, and she took one step backward.
He reached out to grab at her collar as if she was his enemy, Camille took a deep breath and was scared.
“Why are you hiding from me?” He pulled her closer and pressed the back of her head. He then clutched her hand and leaned in to kiss her. The kiss was enduring and soft.
She was kissed.
She was kissed by this man again.
As time paused, his touch was burning. She felt her whole body tighten as if electrocuted.
He forcefully grabbed her hands, wanting her to wrap her arms around his waist.
She didn’t do so. She pulled backward.
But she couldn’t pull away from him. Her fingers were one step closer to his waist.
She opened her eyes and told herself she couldn’t do this. She wasn’t in the position to get to know such an outstanding man. She tried her best to struggle, her body pressing against him. But he kept violently sucking at her lips. In the heat of the moment, she bit him hard.
Luke grunted in pain.
“Slap!
She raised her hand and slapped him across the face. The next moment, she clenched her fingers and retreated in fear.
His eyes looked scary and angry.
He suppressed his anger and said in a husky voice, “You’re the first woman ever to hit me. So what more can you ask for? Be my woman, and you can have everything you want.”
She closed her eyes.
His face was ghastly white as he stared solidly at her.
She looked up and asked, “What should I say to make you understand that this is never happening between us? If you want a woman as your merchandise, you should go out there on the street. I’m sure they’ll satisfy your needs. Don’t forget I’m your employee.”
She then ran off like a rabbit startled by a gunshot.
Luke clenched his hands, and his knuckles went pale.
She ran downstairs without stopping for a second.
When she returned to the site, Jenna asked, “Wait, what happened? Why are your lips all swollen?”
Camille said, “Let’s get this over with.”
She wanted to finish her work early because this was her dad’s death anniversary.
Finally, it was lunchtime. Camille’s phone rang. Jenna answered her phone outside the human resource department. “Hello, who is this? I’m Camille’s best friend at work. She’s trying to deliver the application for leave.”
Jordan was outside Leicester Hotel, and he answered, “Please tell her that the caller is with Allen now. He’s ourside Leicester Hotel waiting for her to come out.”

“Good.” Jenna hung up:

Jenna and Camille went downstairs. Camille ran out of the elevator carrying her bag. Jenna shouted behind her, “You are at really lousy friend! How can you let a man get in the way of us?
At the same time, another private elevator opened. Luke stared at Camille with cold eyes as she left. He heard what Jenna just said.
Luke said to Sarah and Trevor, who walked out of the elevator behind him, “I’ll see you at tonight’s banquet.” He then strode
away.
“Sarah, go pick your dress. I’ll pick you up tonight. I’m in the middle of something important right now.” Trevor exited the hall and headed for the underground parking lot. This day was the death anniversary of Camill’s father,
Allen saw his mom and immediately got out of the car. He threw himself into Camille’s arms. “Mommy, I missed you so much;
“There, there.” Camille put him in the car and said to Jordan, I’m so sorry to bother you with all this. Today is my dad’s death anniversary, but I can’t be away from work for too long. I have to be back to cater for the guests tonight.”
“It’s okay.” Jordan smiled.
Camille placed the things she purchased in the car and happened to see Luke, who was not far away.
Luke looked at Camille with a frown. He didn’t know why she had a kid in her arms. He wondered if she had a boyfriend and if the man in the car was her boyfriend. He was equally confused about the kid.
“Mommy, get in the car,” Allen reminded his mother.
Camille’s heart was pounding. Luke’s chiseled face looked exceedingly cold. He was walking toward her with a frown.
