Chapter 28
“God! Let go of me! Let go of me!”
Camille wrestled to free herself. “Is this Glondomian man out of his mind? I’m an employee of the hotel! How dare he harass me here in public?” she shouted inside.
She hit the Glondomian man with the tray in her hand.
The man eagerly dipped his head to kiss Camille’s face.
Camille was pressed against the rockery by the bridge side. The stones against her back made her wince in pain. Then, in a fluster, she hit the man’s head with the tray.
Infuriated, the Glondomian man grabbed one of her hands and crushed his lips against her cheek.
“Stay away from me!” Camille frowned and pushed the man with all her might. He stank of tobacco and alcohol and made her sick.
“Get your hands off her!”
The Glondomian man was suddenly yanked away. The brute force made Camille lose her balance and fall by the bridge.
“You pervert! Someone like you should be put away immediately!”
Trevor grabbed the Glondomian man by his collar, raised his fist, and punched him hard.
After taking two heavy blows, the Glondomian man shouted something in the Glondomian language, his lips broken and bleeding. But, unfortunately, Trevor was bad at the Glondomian language and couldn’t understand him.
“Hey, girl. Can you get up? Has he done anything to you?”
Camille’s heart stopped at that moment.
She felt all her blood running cold in her veins the second she heard the voice she couldn’t be more familiar with.
Her mind was sent reeling.
Everyone’s life was a piece of blank paper at the very beginning. Then, as time passed, people came and went and left colors on it. For Camille, Trevor was the brightest color on her paper.
She stared vacantly at the ground. She was not afraid of meeting him again. On the contrary, she was worried that when they met again, they would have changed so much that she’d be at a loss for words, even though she had tons to say.
They didn’t look much different from ten years ago, but everything else had changed.
“Is she mute?” Trevor mumbled to himself. He clutched the Glondomian man’s collar and looked back at the girl lying on the ground in the dark, wondering why she kept silent.
Camille gripped the hem of her uniform, her hands trembling uncontrollably.
When Trevor saw her face, his pupils dilated.
“Is she…Camille?” Trevor thought in disbelief.
In his memory, Camille had a smooth and slender neck and looked as fragile as she did now. Trevor had thought she was so thin because of malnutrition.

“Miss, you…”
Trevor released his grip on the Glondomian man and approachel Camille.
Camille didn’t get up and shuddered when she heard his voice, making her look vulnerable.

Seeing her stay motionless, Trevor thought she must be scared and felt sorry immediately. Then, in a tender voice, he asked, “Did I scare you? Are you…”
“Trevor, what happened?”
Someone heard the noises and hurried over, interrupting Trevor before he could complete his sentence.
Trevor turned around and saw Luke.
“What happened?” Luke asked. His sharp gaze flicked from the Glondomian man whose mouth was still bleeding to the girl on the ground.
“It’s fine now,” Trevor answered. However, when he looked over his shoulder, the girl who had been on the ground had already run to the other end of the bridge and soon disappeared in the distance.
“That girl…” Trevor chased after her without hesitation.
He ran in the direction where Camille had disappeared, but she was nowhere to be found.
He kept running and looking around for anyone who might be Camille.
The hotel had many guests today, and there were people everywhere. Trevor darted forward and grabbed a waitress’s shoulder when she passed by.
“Sir, what can I do for you?” The waitress looked startled.
Trevor was so disappointed when the waitress spun around, and his shoulders sagged with dejection. He frowned and released her. “Sorry. I mistook you for someone else.”
It was not her.
“What’s wrong with you? What happened back there just now?” Luke caught up with Trevor and asked in confusion.
“Why did Trevor chase Camille?” Luke wondered in his heart.
Trevor narrowed his eyes, his gaze still wandering around and searching for that familiar figure.
“Who are you looking for?” Luke followed Trevor’s eyes and only saw waitresses bustling around.
“A waitress. The girl who fell by the bridge just now,” Trevor muttered in a daze and spun around on his heels, dashing back into the hotel.
Luke’s expression was inscrutable, and no one could tell what he was thinking, but what was on Trevor’s mind remained unknown to him too.
People from the human resource department all dressed up for the banquet tonight. The head of the HR department, an acquaintance of Trevor’s, was pulled into the elevator by him.
“Trevor, what are you doing?” The head of the HR department was in his forties and clueless about why Trevor had come to him out of the blue.
“Help me look for a girl.” Trevor grabbed the arm of the head of the HR department and brought him to the human resource department.

The head of the HR department opened the door to the human resource department and turned around, asking. “Who is she? I never knew there was an employee here at Leicester Hotel who you cared so much about.”
“Camille Shelton. Run her name in the system and see if there’s anyone of that name.” Trevor leaned against the desk and nervously tapped its surface with one slender finger.
The head of the HR department was to turn on the computer but stilled after hearing the name. Then, looking up, he asked. “Camille Shelton?”
“Do you know her?” Trevor’s eyes lit up with hope.
“She’s an employee Mr. Walter personally hired about a month ago. I arranged for her to work in the restaurant, so her name is not strange to me, the head of the HR department answered honestly.
“The restaurant? Luke hired her himself?” Trevor thought in shock.
He strode out of the human resource department and hit the elevator button impatiently.
Walking out of the hotel lobby, he ran into Helen and Luke. They were talking about something as they walked inside.
When Trevor met Luke’s gaze, something in their eyes collided. Trevor couldn’t believe that Camille had been with Luke all this time.
“Hey, Trevor. Where’s Sarah? Why isn’t she with you? Helen asked with a gentle smile.
Treyor pressed his lips together and locked his eyes on Luke. Then he asked, “Did you personally hire a girl a month ago?”
“You did?” Helen knitted her brows and looked at Luke.
Luke raised his eyebrow and moved his eyes to his mother. “No”
There was a glint of doubt in Helen’s eyes. Luke’s expression didn’t give anything away, so she couldn’t tell whether he was lying. However, she was curious about the girl in question.
