Chapter 3
Leicester Hotel was built in a scenic area, far from the city center. Its landscape was huge. It was meant for businesses, vacations, long–term stays, and sightseeing.
Camille changed into a clean set of her uniform and stood amidst the crowd.
“As Leicester Hotel’s foundation employees, you must first learn to be human. You should be honest, kind, respectful, and loving to your colleagues. Always carry a thankful and generous attitude when doing your job. You must learn to communicate properly and be passionate. Am I understood?” Camille’s supervisor, Ms. Jones, Instructed coldly.
“Camille!” After a string of instructions, Camille heard her name being called.
“Here! Camille immediately stood forward.
“This is our new colleague, Camille Shelton. Have a good day at work today, everyone!”
After the morning meeting was over, Camille sighed. She clenched her fists and encouraged herself.
“Camille, someone is looking for you on the phone.” Camille’s colleague stood behind the broad and bright bar in the restaurant. She was holding onto a phone when she called out to Camille.
Camille ran over and picked up the phone.
“It’s Estelle. How was your first day at work?” Estelle stood by the window in her office and looked toward the restaurant while holding her phone. Between her office and the restaurant was a huge golf field. Even though she stood on the thirtieth level. she could hardly see the restaurant’s rooftop.
“It’s going well. My colleagues are all very friendly”
“That’s good. However, I’m sure you will be promoted soon with your abilities. Believe in yourself!” Estelle comforted her over the phone and hung up.
Camille started to get busy as customers began entering the restaurant.
“Camille, send these six sets of lunch boxes to the finance department. It’s at the building beside us, on level 39. Do you know how to go? A large pack of lunch boxes was sent out from the kitchen.
Camille lifted them. It was light. Isn’t the finance department where Estelle was at?
“Yes, I know,” Carrying the lunch boxes with her, Camille climbed onto the bicycle outside the restaurant and headed toward the finance department.
She would have to pass by the golf field, then go around the artificial lake to reach the building.
After parking the bicycle and picking up the lunch boxes, the fountain in the lake started to spray water. Camille screamed and jumped backward,
The finance department was located in the hotel’s largest building. It had eighty–six floors. It was majestic and mind- blowing.
The floor inside the building was shining, and even the lights from the ceiling were clearly reflected.
Scanning around, Camille took the lunch boxes and walked toward a deserted–looking lift. She reached out and pressed the button.
After waiting for a while, a cold voice came from behind her. “Excuse me, miss. This lift is used exclusively by the CEO

Camille turned around and goticed two people standing behind her. The person talking was a secretary–looking woman in her twenties.
Standing 3 feet away from the woman was Luke. He was standing straight and had a serious look on his face. He was tall. around 6.2 feet. His two legs were long and straight
Camille immediately stepped back.
The lift arrived. The secretary stood on one side as Luke passed by Camille. He said coldly, “Don’t let such embarrassing things happen again. His face was emotionless as he glanced at her wet uniform.
Camille was speechless,
After changing into a clean uniform, Camille stood positioned in the restaurant. All she could think about was what had happened in the lift lobby.
She was embarrassed enough during the interview and left a bad impression on the
CEO Then, it had to happen again.
After the two customers Camille was serving finished their payment, she walked them out to the door and greeted them politely. “Please forgive me for any shortcomings. Do come again, have a good day!”
In the afternoon, there were hardly any customers left in the restaurant.
At that time, most of the customers were doing other activities. Camille also heard that there wouldn’t be many customers at night in the restaurant. Most customers would be at the entertainment club in the hotel’s basement.
The setting sun was enveloping everything with a layer of golden light. Standing on the rooftop, one could see the distance. Camille found out many things on her first day at work. Working at the restaurant was the most tiring job, but according to her colleagues, it wasn’t that bad. It was more relaxed and less fonnal than other positions at Leicester Hotel.
For example, when there are no customers, they could stand on the rooftop and chill.
A group of beautiful girls was bound to gossip when they were slacking. They would talk about anything and everything.
Camille’s colleague, Kim, had many relationships. She stood on the rooftop and said non–stop, I must find the best man in the world. He must be handsome, rich, doting, romantic, charismatic, and knows how to say the sweetest things to me when he likes me.”
Jenna, the girl in charge of the bar, sat on the bench behind Kim. She rolled her eyes and said to her, “Dream on.”
Kim turned her head and pouted, ready to fight Jenna.
“We should go down now! Time is almost up.” Camille was constantly looking at her watch. She was afraid she would get into trouble.
“No, let’s go down after five minutes. Let’s give Kim another five minutes to drool over our handsome CEO Jenna teased
Kim.
Drool over our handsome CEO?
Camille stood at the corner of the rooftop and followed Kim’s eyes.
“Isn’t he handsome? Let me tell you. In the entire hotel, the view of the outdoor swimming pool is the clearest from our rooftop.” Kim’s eyes were filled with pink hearts.
“Wow, look! I’m going to have a nosebleed!”
Camille did not want to look, but instinctively, she took a glance. She saw a tall and slender figure standing under the

afterglow of the setting sun. He had a healthy tan and beautiful muscles. What was causing the nosebleed was that he was only wearing swimming trunks, and… it was very…
“I’m heading down first. It’s been five minutes.” Camille ran down as if she was escaping. She had never seen other men wearing so little besides her son.
Camille only got off work at 7 pm.
It was pouring outside.
The raindrops were splashing on the ground, seemingly producing bubbles. When Camille rah out with her umbrella, her shoes were already wet
Standing 300 feet outside the hotel, Camille waited for her bus at the bus stop. Thankfully, the bus she was taking would still be operating until 9 pm.
Suddenly, the rain grew heavier. Camille raised her head as she breathed in the cool air. As the sound of the raindrops falling on her umbrella was too loud, she did not notice a car approaching her.
“Get in! The rain is too heavy!” the man in the passenger seat said as the car’s window winded down.
Camille was taken aback. She remembered this man. He was there on the day of her interview. It was Mr. Tate.
She looked past Adam and noticed the man driving the car. He was aloof and unapproachable. He was holding phone as he spoke with someone. His thin lips were pursed into a cold arc
Camille’s heart dropped. She shooked her head and said, “No, thanks! The bus will be coming soon.”
