Chapter224
Antonio and Tyler showed up at the police station one after another.
Tyler introduced himself and asked to see the security tapes.
Once they watched the footage, a young cop pulled out what was left of Grace’s things.
The cop explained, “The video shows Ms. Parrish didn’t leave the villa after going back in, and it’s a good bet she didn’t make it out of the fire.
“There’s some stuff we found at the scene.”
A clear bag held a diamond and a red something that was hard to make out.
The shape of the diamond was a dead ringer for the one on Grace’s mom’s necklace.
Tyler’s face lost all its color when he saw it, turning him sickly pale.
“These were Grace’s prized bracelet and diamond necklace,” Tyler said, his voice barely above a whisper, like he had a lump in his throat that made it rough.
It was like his chest was being ripped apart by invisible hands, the pain was so bad.
Regret hit him like a tidal wave, swallowing Tyler whole.

Antonio was reeling, seeing stars and feeling like he might topple over.
By the time Michelle got there, Antonio was clearly out of it.
“Antonio, what’s going on with Grace?” She didn’t get to wrap up her words before Antonio spun around, fixing her with a glare that sent shivers down her spine.
Michelle’s voice was shaky, sounding more and more forlorn. “Antonio, what’s wrong…”
His eyes were bloodshot, his voice hoarse. “It’s all because of you that Grace would do something like this.
“When you weren’t in the picture, the three of us were doing just peachy.
“It’s your fault, your butting in, that led me to misjudge Grace…
“Michelle, I’m not letting you off the hook.”
“Antonio, I get that you’re torn up about Grace’s death…” Michelle’s eyes brimmed with tears, but she was cut off before she could finish her sentence when Antonio shoved
her back.
“Beat it,” he barked.
Tears still glistening, Michelle turned to Tyler for some comfort.
But Tyler just turned away, his expression as cold as ice.
Michelle sat there, frozen in place, feeling a coldness seep into her soul.
