Chapter229
My ticket got messed up right before I was supposed to board, and I was stuck on the ground.
I didn’t sweat it.
I knew Antonio wouldn’t let me go without a hitch.
I sent Linda and the gang on their way and told them I’d sort it
out.
With my suitcase in tow, I scanned the busy airport and spotted Antonio easily.
It was a chilly spring day, and he was noticeable in his dark grey coat, tall and upright, sticking out from the crowd.
He looked at me with eager eyes.
I beckoned him over with a crook of my finger.
He came over with a smile. “Grace.”
“Antonio, you messed with my ticket,” I said straight, no denying it.
He owned up to it without hesitation. “I had to. I can’t just let you leave.”
I gave him a cold stare. “Do you have a clue why I’m out of here?
“You and Tyler are history to me.

“Because to me, you guys are less important than strangers.”
Antonio started to panic. “Grace, I knew I messed up. I’ll make it right. I promise. Just say you’ll give me a shot, okay?”
His voice was low, not the strong, confident tone I remembered.
I shook my head. “No, you weren’t under Michelle’s spell. You just figured I was so into you and I could never walk away.
“Good thing you were cold enough to keep me up at night, hurting so much until I finally got over you.”
The color faded from Antonio’s face, and his eyes were bloodshot.
He murmured, “Grace…”
“Don’t call me that. It turns my stomach,” I snapped.
Antonio looked away, almost desperately. “Tyler is on his way here. Stay and see him before you leave, please?”
“No way,” I replied, ice cold. “All I want is to get away, as far from you as possible.”
I headed back to the hotel.
Tyler got there before me.
He held a bunch of papers, and his eyes got all watery when he saw me.
“Grace, I got everything back from Michelle. It’s all ready to be put in your name. Just sign here,” he said, his hand shaking a bit.

“I’m not asking for forgiveness right now, just a chance to fix things,” he added.
But no matter how genuine he tried to sound, my face stayed blank, not a flicker of feeling.
I was really done with them.
Letting go was like being torn apart. It almost killed me.
“No,” I told them, meeting their eyes. “I won’t forgive you, and I won’t get back at you either.
“Tyler and Antonio, I’m only saying this once.
“Save your apologies. I’m not interested.
“And don’t show up here again.”
Tyler’s lips, white as snow, moved a little, yet no words escaped them.
He knew me well.
If I were to lose it on him, scream and yell, or even throw a punch, there would be a slim chance to fix things.
Yet, I was cool and collected, not even tossing out any accusations.
He got the message that I was never looking back.
