Chapter 5
“Wanna go shopping tomorrow? I’ll pay,” I suggested.
Lilith shrilled, “Grace, you finally decided to dress yourself up! I’ve been wanting to say this for ages…”
We chatted late into the night.
The next morning, I went to the mall with Lilith.
“I’ll take all of these…”
I pointed to a row of clothes and gave my size. The weight on my mind slowly began to lift.
Lilith also picked out clothes excitedly. But she only chose one piece in the end.
As soon as I finished paying, I received a message on my phone.
It was from an unknown number.
But I could tell by the content that it was from Lola.
“Grace, do you have no shame? How could you use Antonio’s money? This is why you stayed with him all these years, isn’t
it?!
“If you were smart, you’d return the card. At least Antonio will think you’re a decent woman. You love him so much, so you wouldn’t want him to despise you, right?”

Chapter 5
Reading her message, I couldn’t help but laugh. Lilith leaned in to read the message and also burst out laughing. “Does she have brain damage? Only an idiot would turn down 2 million. Return it? She’s out of her mind!”
I smiled, then took a screenshot and sent it to Antonio. Lola’s behavior was disgusting, and I shouldn’t be the only one to suffer this.
Soon enough, Antonio called. I hung up immediately and then blocked his number.
“Let’s go get a facial,” I said.
I slipped my phone into my pocket and took Lilith to the beauty salon.
When it was done, Lilith circled around me and said, “Grace, look at you! This is the real you! Our beautiful lady is back!”
I looked at the refreshed version of myself in the mirror and smiled. Yes, this was me.
After the excitement wore off, Lilith’s expression turned serious. She looked like she wanted to say something but wasn’t sure if she should.
“What’s wrong?” I asked, signaling her to speak. But the next second, my heart sank.
She finally said, “Grace, what are you planning to do about the baby?”
Thinking about Antonio’s words, I sneered and said without hesitation, “Get rid of it.”
I was selfish. I was not that noble. I couldn’t put myself
through the suffering of raising a child all on my own.
The father didn’t want the child. If I had it, it would never receive the fatherly love it deserved. It would get caught up in all this mess.
That was too much for a child to take. So, it was better not to bring it into this world at all.
“Since you’ve made your choice, I’ll arrange things with the hospital for you,” Lilith said. Her concern vanished, replaced by a smile. “Grace, I’m glad to see you moving on. I was afraid you’d lose yourself.”
I smiled and shook my head, not saying anything more.
I loved Antonio, but he broke my heart. A smart person should know when to cut their losses.
Soon, Lilith arranged everything with the doctor.
I paid the money and got ready for the procedure.
The next day, I went to the hospital alone. Lilith couldn’t come with me because she had a driving test to take.
