Chapter 6
Lilith had asked me to wait after her driving test so that she could come with me, but I didn’t want to drag it out any longer. I was afraid that I’d change my mind after a few days.
Sitting in the waiting area, I felt a little nervous.
“No. 3 Grace Parrish, it’s your turn!”
My name was called. I stood up to head inside, but someone suddenly grabbed my wrist.
I lost my balance and fell backward, caught tightly in
someone’s arms.
The familiar cologne filled my nostrils. Having smelled this scent for eight years, I realized it was Antonio in an instant.
I pushed him away sharply and frowned.
Our eyes met. He was sweating on his forehead, probably because he had been running.
“Grace, what are you doing here?” Antonio questioned harshly before I could say anything.
I coldly stared at him, sneering, “Antonio, what I’m doing here is none of your business.”
The doctor called for me again. I turned and went inside.
“Lie down and take off your pants. I’ll prepare the anesthesia,” said the doctor. Just as I was about to undress, the door was

kicked open. Antonio walked in with a grim face and coldly asked the doctor, “Is she here for an abortion?”
“You can’t barge into the gynecology operating room! Please leave now. As for what she’s here for, that’s private. information. I can’t share it with you,” the doctor snapped, but Antonio ignored her and walked toward me.
I frowned at him, confused about why he was so angry.
Antonio grabbed me and started pulling me out. The doctor hurriedly reached for her phone to call security. Antonio coldly said, “I’m the father of the baby.”
I froze. The doctor relaxed, then turned to me, saying in an earnest tone, “You shouldn’t do this without discussing it with your husband. It’s harmful to your body.”
“He’s not…”
I tried to explain, but Antonio picked me up in his arms and carried me out.
“Antonio, what the hell are you doing?” I stared at him and struggled to break free, but he held me tightly, refusing to let
- go.
In a quiet corner, Antonio finally set me down, staring at me angrily. “Grace, are you really going to terminate your pregnancy?”
Despite my confusion about his sudden interest, I just
snapped, “It’s none of your business! The child isn’t yours, so why should I explain myself to you?”
Antonio was dazed as if something had just crossed his mind.

Then, he stared at me, trying to find traces of the love I once had for him in my eyes.
But he was disappointed. I no longer loved him.
“Grace, I’m sorry about what I did. Don’t make decisions out of spite, okay?” Antonio furrowed his brow and looked at me seriously, his eyes glinting with a touch of warmth and compromise.
This reminded me of the past. Antonio would always look at me like that when I was angry as if I was the one who had done something wrong.
But I hadn’t done anything wrong!
“You’re wrong. I’ve thought this through carefully. Don’t try to lecture me. Who do you think you are?” I turned my gaze away and retorted coldly.
“I’m your…”
He tried to say something, but the words wouldn’t come out.
I looked at him with disdain, mocking, “You’re what? Go ahead, say it! Who are you here to question me? Lola’s boyfriend? Or my employer?”
