Without Lewis around, Grace found herself enjoying the next few days on her own.
She headed to Flueca, the so–called most romantic place on Earth–not for love, but for the pastries. Every day she indulged in world–famous local desserts.
She took her research seriously, studying everything from how they looked to how they tasted, and even picked up some tips from seasoned pastry chefs.
Checking herself out in the mirror, Grace was surprised and happy to see she’d filled out a bit.
It felt like she was putting herself back together.
She made a funny face in the mirror and took a selfie, meaning to save it but accidentally sent it to Lewis.
Lewis messaged Grace every day, sharing little snippets about his life.
But Grace had heard from Theo that Lewis was buried in work with a company merger, working late nights and barely finding time to eat.
She also heard that Lewis had postponed the merger task just to spend time with her, affecting the stock prices and putting him in a tricky spot.
