Chapter 2
Chapter 2
When Robin spoke to Vera, he was so patient,
Or rather, with everything to do with Vera, Robin was incredibly patient. Be carefully instructed the caregiver og Vera’s dietary redryone and stuck notes on the fridge to remind them.
Only after Vera had fallen asleep did he feel it was safe to leave,
It was past 2 a.m. when he got home,
He looked at the dark house and frowned. “Eden?”
Normally, I would always leave a light on in the living room.
Due to childhood trauma, I knew Robin was afraid of the dark. After we got together, no matter how late it was, I would wait for him to come home and leave a light on for him.
Robin switched on the light and searched the house, It was empty, with only a small cake sitting on the coffee table,
The cake was small, only six inches in diameter, and had a simple sketch of three people on top,
Me, Robin, and Eve–our little family.
I had made it this afternoon. Robin didn’t like cream, so the entire cake was topped only with a thin layer of cream, the rest degrand wit’s trust,
Robin stared at the cake for a moment. Maybe out of guilt, he sent me two text messages.
“The cake looks nice. There will be another chance to celebrate Eve’s birthday. Don’t be angry, Eden. Come home.”
Robin thought I was just upset, but he didn’t realize that he had taken me for granted, assuming that with a few words, everything would be fue aga
The first time Robin and I had an argument was when he proposed bringing Vera to our home for treatment.
Vera’s father had been arrested for a crime, and Vera was emotionally unstable.
Robin was worried about her being alone, so he suggested bringing her to live with us.
Of course, I disagreed. As a normal woman, I simply couldn’t accept a strange woman living with us.
“It’s just work. Vera is my patient. Eden Bruce, what are you worried about?” He asked, his face filled with confusion, as if asking why I couldn’t
understand him.
4 .
I didn’t agree, and we argued hysterically.
Robin looked at Vera, who was trembling in the corner, and yelled at me, “If you don’t want to stay in this house, then leave?”
I froze, staring at him in disbelief.
quickly realized his mistake and came over, trying to pull me close. “Eden, I didn’t mean it.”
But his words still stung. Because if I left, I had nowhere else to go.
I was far from home, having moved to A City after falling in love with Robin during university.
My hometown was over a thousand kilometers away.
That night, sitting by the window, I cried the entire night, but in the end, I compromised.
Now, as he wished, I wasn’t staying in this house anymore. I would never return.
Robin Bright took two bites of the cake and hurried off to bed.
I heard him telling Vera that he would take her to the library tomorrow.

Chapter 2
Vera had withdrawn from university even before it had started, due to her depression. During her middle and high school years, she had suffered from bullying, which made her school life miserable. She had never set foot in a library.
Robin and I met in the library. I had wanted to borrow a book that was available in only one copy in the entire library, and it was already checked out by him. So, I went there every day, waiting for him to return the book.
At that time, Robin was not like he is now. He was rather gloomy, unpopular in the crowd, and lacking confidence.
It was me who helped him, little by little, to accept himself and move past that painful time.
When Vera heard this story, she was filled with envy. She begged Robin to take her to the library.
He agreed, even taking a day off to accompany her.
next morning. Robin changed into a youthful, casual outfit. He hesitated for a long time at the doorway before finally putting the wedding ring on middle finger.
While waiting for the elevator, he overheard someone saying words like “suicide.”
