Chapter 6
Pardes Miller finally used his strong will to knock over the water glass on the bedside table.
The water spilled all over his face and body, soaking the bandages that covered his wounds.
I quickly rushed to help him wipe it off, apologizing as I turned to them,
“You see, he gets upset when it comes to money. If I accepted compensation, he’d probably get angry at me. I can’t bring myself to take anything from them!”
Isaid this out loud, but secretly, I was using all my strength to hold down Pardes, who was struggling with his rising anger.
Seeing how magnanimous he was, they didn’t dare to persuade me further and reluctantly left.
As they were leaving, I overheard one of the officers muttering, “This is the easiest case I’ve ever mediated.”
Once they were gone, I immediately let go of Pardes.
However, I didn’t gauge the force properly, and he stumbled, collapsing onto the bed, his chest rising and falling in frustration.
“Are you happy now, my dear husband? I’ve taken all your lessons to heart. Isn’t this magnanimous enough? ”
“You don’t have to worry about me secretly calling the police. I fully understand you now!”
See? People never realize the pain until it happens to them!
When Loopy suffered, he didn’t feel a thing, using her suffering as a stepping stone for his own gain.
But when it came to his own injuries, he rushed to find the police and file a case.
How could the world be so simple?
When Mr. Smith received Pardes’s letter of understanding, he couldn’t believe it.
Could Pardes still have a hidden card up his sleeve?!
Under pressure from his leadership, Mr. Smith still brought a bouquet of flowers to visit Pardes in the hospital.
But he had a plan in mind.
When Mr. Smith arrived with a group of reporters, Pardes was struggling with a physiological issue.
Given his current injuries, he couldn’t get out of bed. I had only hired a nurse for one hour a day to help with his basic needs due to the high medical
expenses.
But of course, today the nurse was late, and instead, I brought in the culprit, Mr. Smith, along with a group of reporters.
The reporters, armed with cameras, immediately began snapping pictures of Pardes, whose face was flushed red from the discomfort.
“Look, honey, who’s here? Mr. Smith, the supervisor from your company, has come to see you!”
I deliberately emphasized “Mr. Smith,” watching as Pardes’s face turned even paler.
Mr. Smith had already adopted the air of a supervisor. He smiled as he placed the bouquet on Pardes’s bedside.
Pardes immediately started coughing uncontrollably, almost unable to hold it in.
“Oh no, I’ve been so busy these days that I forgot my husband is allergic to pollen! Let me move it away!”
I quickly grabbed the bouquet and moved it away–don’t kill him off so quickly!
Mr. Smith’s face showed more guilt. “I’m so sorry, Pardes. I was too impulsive before. You were upset about not getting the supervisor position, and it was natural for you to come find me to vent. I didn’t expect you to be so weak and get hurt so badly.
