Chapter 6
“Luckily, you’re a generous person and didn’t hold it against me. Don’t worry, when you recover, I’ll apply to Mr. White to make you the assistan supervisor!”
Pardes was seething with frustration.
I looked at his face and spoke,
“Mr. Smith, please don’t say that! A little scuffle between colleagues is totally normal. How could people work together without some friction? Pardes already let it go, and besides, it was him who initiated the conflict. There’s no reason for you to apologize!”
Mr. Smith pulled out a thick red envelope, “Well then, at least accept this as a token of my apology?”
I quickly waved my hand.
bsolutely not! This is just a small injury, there’s no need for such compensation. It might look serious now, but it’s almost healed. It’s just that his
al cords aren’t fully recovered, so he can’t speak properly. Please don’t worry!”
Pardes was so frustrated he couldn’t speak. “You’re something else!”
I smiled, “See? Just like this!”
Mr. Smith sneered,
“Well, now I’m relieved. Even though I received your letter of understanding, I still felt uneasy. Now that I can see with my own eyes that Pardes truly forgives me, the weight in my heart has been lifted!”
“Oh, by the way, these reporters are here because they’ve heard about your generous nature and are so impressed. They specifically came to interview you, Pardes. You don’t mind, do you?!”
