Chapter 7
Pardes Miller was such a man of pride, even though he was clearly struggling, he couldn’t bring himself to say it aloud!
I answered for him: “Come on, there’s no need to be so picky. Just a while ago, your son bullied our daughter, and didn’t Pardes graciously forgive Jack Smith on the news? How could he possibly mind this?!”
Mr. Smith caught the hidden meaning in my words. His expression changed slightly, but he forced a smile and said, “Haha, well, that’s good! Shall we
start then??”
They didn’t know, one of the reporters had silently started a livestream.
reporter asked:
“Mr, Miller, if you are really as magnanimous as you claim, why are you so obsessed with the position of company supervisor? Even after knowing you didn’t get the role, you still went to vent your anger on Mr. Smith, the confirmed supervisor, and ended up getting beaten up.”
“Did you feel like you were in the wrong, which is why you chose to issue the letter of forgiveness? Are you just trying to create a magnanimous image?”
Pardes was struck right in the heart, and his anger surged. His body trembled with frustration.
He didn’t expect this to get worse.
Pardes stayed silent, but my reporters relentlessly pursued:
“In your previous interview, many netizens questioned whether you were using your daughter’s suffering to build this magnanimous persona.”
“There are even rumors online suggesting that you deliberately induced Mr. Smith’s son, Jack Smith, to bully your daughter in school, creating this image of a noble and gracious man afterward.”
“It seems your plan was exposed, and now, in frustration over losing the position, you’ve been acting out. Can you confirm whether these claims are
rumors, or is there any truth to them?”
Pardes hesitated, silent. Mr. Smith stood off to the side, watching the drama unfold.
I, on the other hand, acted shocked, like I had no idea how scheming my husband could be.
- fr. Miller, please respond.”
“Enough! Get out!” Pardes suddenly snapped, catching everyone off guard.
“Mr. Miller…”
“I
get out, can’t you hear me?!”
I, “panicked,” forced a smile, “My husband’s not feeling well today, sorry everyone, we’ll have to end it here for now!”
As soon as I finished speaking, an indescribable odor filled the room.
Everyone froze, staring at Pardes. Had he lost control of himself?!
At that moment, the long–lost nurse finally arrived. “Sorry, Mr. Miller, I’m late. It’s about time you needed to go to the restroom, right? Huh, what’s that smell?! Mr. Miller, you…”
This was the final blow.
Pardes was mortified, unable to hold back his shame. The image of the refined, magnanimous man vanished completely.
In the corner, the livestream’s comments flooded in:
“Why does everyone look so frozen? Their expressions are really telling… Could it be…”
“Don’t say it out loud, just know it in your heart. You get it, right? I’m still eating!”
