Chapter 689 Say Something!

Candy froze and glanced toward Wesley. Seeing him still gazing at the computer screen, not paying any attention to herself, she got angry.
“Wesley!”
Wesley only turned to look at her when he heard her voice. Seeing the broken glass in her hand, he got up and walked towards her.
“Why is it broken? Loosen your hand. Don’t get cut.”
His tone stayed calm as if Candy was being unreasonable.
She squeezed the broken glass. It took Wesley a good deal of effort to yank that half of the glass out of her hand.
He looked up at her. “What’s wrong? Are you uncomfortable?”
Wesley thought, “Every time she gets uncomfortable, she gets mad and then makes us both uncomfortable. But if I coax her, she gets comfortable.”
Candy just stared at him, not saying anything.
She looked at him for a long time before she suddenly tugged at the hem of her dress and was about to remove the only dress she had with her the next second.

Wesley was stunned and hastily held down both of her hands. “What are you doing?”

“Didn’t you tell me to go to sleep? Shouldn’t I take off my clothes to sleep?”
Wesley thought she was doing it on purpose. She was still trying hard to get her dress off.
He closed his eyes and sighed, “Candy, stop messing around. I have things to do.”
Candy thought, “Messing around? Does he actually think I’m messing around?”
She wasn’t happy about it and took his hand directly to her
chest.
Wesley touched the softness, and his breath paused.
“Now, is there something else you want to do?”
There was insistence in her eyes.
Her start with Wesley was a little strange. At first, everyone assumed their relationship wouldn’t last forever.
So now that she wanted him to pay attention to her, it was the only way she could do it.
“Candy…”

Wesley didn’t know why she was suddenly like this, but he couldn’t help himself and carried her towards the bed.

Candy’s eyes were still full of seriousness even though she was lying on the bed. She said, “Wesley, have you ever thought about marrying me?”
It was after Candy heard Chloe’s words yesterday that she realized that her and Wesley’s relationship might have really come to this point.
They were either going to get married or break up.
They’d been living together for a long time, no different than marriage. If Wesley didn’t want to get married, it was acceptable to say so now. That way, at least, she’d have less time to waste.
“Wesley, if you don’t think you’ve had fun enough, or if I’m not the ideal wife for you, let’s end it. I won’t blame you. After we break up, I can go find someone else who’s better.”
Her voice was muffled. And Wesley stood at the edge of the bed, looking down at her. “Do you want to go find a better one?”
Candy retorted, “Wesley, you can’t be so bossy! You won’t marry me, and you won’t let me find a better one. Why are you so greedy? It’s unfair of you to treat me like this!”
She had always thought of herself as a non–marriage advocate before and had never thought of getting married.

But when she got together with Wesley, she really wanted to be with him all the time. She’d fantasized about marrying him many times, but she’d never told Wesley about it.
If Chloe hadn’t told her yesterday, she wouldn’t have had the courage to mention it to Wesley today.
She thought, “If a man really likes a woman, he would want to marry her.
As for whether he will cheat on her after marriage, that’s all a matter for later.
But if he never wanted to marry me in the first place, he just doesn’t love me enough.”
Candy looked at Wesley and sat up from the bed. “Wesley, say something!”
She didn’t like it when he didn’t talk.

Chapter 690 A Short–Term Choice
Wesley took a deep breath. “Candy, marriage needs to be planned carefully. We can’t just get married casually.”
“Enough!”
Before he could finish, Candy interrupted him.

She got off the bed, tears already in her eyes. “I know that. You don’t have to say anything more.”
Candy began to pack her things in front of Wesley.
In fact, she didn’t bring much with her. She had come here to investigate Lydia, not for vacation. So, she had little stuff and packed it in just over ten minutes.
She dragged her suitcase and stood face to face with Wesley. She looked at him and said, “I’ll ask you one last time, are you willing to marry me?”
Before this, Candy had never thought that she would become a woman who forced a man to get married one day.
When she watched TV dramas before, she always looked down on such people. But now that it really happened to her, she realized that she was forced.
If Wesley had expressed his opinion, she wouldn’t be so

aggressive.
“Candy, it’s too late now. Can we talk about it tomorrow?”
Candy got his answer and suddenly laughed.
She thought, “I’m breaking up with him, but he just thinks it’s something we can talk about tomorrow. No way.”
Candy pulled her suitcase and opened the door of the hotel room. She turned to look at Wesley and said, “Wesley, let’s break up!”

Chloe had taken a shower in the villa and was about to go to bed when she heard the doorbell ring.
She opened the bedroom door and went downstairs. She saw Candy standing at the door, dragging a suitcase.
Candy was relatively normal before she saw Chloe. She said nothing when she met James‘ puzzled gaze.
But when she saw Chloe coming down from the second floor, she burst into tears. “Chloe!”
She let go of her suitcase and ran in. She hugged Chloe and cried on Chloe’s shoulder.
Chloe was stunned. She glanced at James and saw that he was shrugging to show that he didn’t know what was going on. Chloe could only pat Candy on the back to comfort her.
