At the hospital, James rushed over as soon as he heard the news.
Now, a few people were waiting outside the operating room, and Chloe was visibly anxious.
Even though Chloe hadn’t spent much time with Christopher, he was still her nephew. Because of that family bond, she couldn’t help but worry more.
With his life hanging in the balance, she couldn’t sit still.
“Chloe, you should inform the Miller family,” James said.
James‘ voice reached Chloe’s ears.
She had thought about contacting her cousin. After all, this was Ainsley’s son. No matter how strained their relationship, a mother wouldn’t ignore her son being in such danger.
She was worried that Christopher might feel uncomfortable when he woke up if she did inform them.
“Even if the Miller family doesn’t approve of him being in the entertainment industry, they wouldn’t want him hurt!” James‘ words caused her hand to tremble slightly.

Finally, she decided and called Amanda.

“Chloe? Why are you calling me? Are you feeling better? Dad, Grandpa, and I are preparing for your return party and the press conference. We were just about to ask where you’d like it to be held.”
Amanda sounded cheerful, surprised that Chloe was calling.
“Amanda, can you come to the hospital?”
Chloe had no energy to think about any press conferences. Her thoughts were filled with the scene of Christopher’s hand dripping blood, leaving no room for anything else.
The moment Amanda heard she was at the hospital, her tone changed. “What happened? You’re at the hospital? I’m coming right now!”
“It’s not me… it’s Calvin.”
Outside of the entertainment industry, Christopher used his real name, Calvin.
Hearing the name, Amanda paused for a moment, realizing who she was talking about.
Amanda arrived quickly, with Ainsley in tow.
Ainsley looked at the still–lit operating room, her eyes filled with
worry. She had no idea what was happening and could only look to Chloe for answers.

“Chloe, what’s going on? How did Calvin end up in the hospital? Why is he in surgery?” Ainsley’s voice trembled as she spoke.
Ainsley had always missed her son, but Calvin’s fallout with his father had left her in the middle. She was unsure of what to do.
On top of that, Calvin had gained a bad reputation in the entertainment industry for being difficult, leading to constant online criticism. Ainsley felt powerless to help him and had eventually distanced herself.
No matter how angry she had been, she never imagined he’d end up in the hospital one day.
“He had an accident on set. He’s still in surgery,” Chloe explained.
When Ainsley heard the word “accident“, her legs nearly gave
out.
Amanda quickly steadied her, comforting her. “Ainsley, let’s sit down. We’ll ask the doctors for details after the surgery. Don’t panic yet.”
Ainsley sat down and began quietly sobbing, maintaining her composure without breaking down completely.
Amanda glanced at Chloe, signaling her to talk privately.
Standing in the hallway, Amanda asked gravely, “What happened today? Was Calvin badly hurt before he went in?”

“I’m not sure. I just know there was a power outage on set, and his wire rig malfunctioned. He might have fallen from a height. I don’t know the details.”
As Chloe finished speaking, the elevator dinged. The production crew, including the director, stepped out.
Their faces were filled with worry. As soon as they saw Chloe, they rushed over. “How’s Christopher doing?”
