“He’s still in surgery.”
Amanda glanced at the people, recognizing them as the film crew, and her gaze turned noticeably colder.

“Your crew doesn’t even have a backup power supply? The power went out, completely disregarding the safety of the actors. If anything happens to him, your whole crew will be held responsible!”
Being part of the Miller family, Amanda often attended events and interviews, so anyone in the industry knew exactly who she
was.
The director, seeing someone from the Miller family, panicked even more, assuming Christopher was secretly backed by them.
“Ms. Miller, I’m truly sorry. We did check everything before filming, but I have no idea how the power cut off. We’re investigating now and will give you a satisfactory explanation.”
Amanda scoffed, “You’ve got one day. If you can’t figure out what happened, expect a subpoena from the court.”
The director felt like he was facing a crisis. They’d invested so much in the movie already. A lawsuit would delay the entire production and cause them major losses.

“Ms. Miller, I’ll make sure you get an answer, but don’t you think the lawsuit is a bit too much?”
“Too much? He’s in there fighting for his life. What’s more serious? A movie or a human life?” Amanda snapped.

Amanda was angry now. Even though she was a unique figure in the male–dominated business world, her presence was still intimidating.
“Yes, yes, you’re right, Ms. Miller. I’ll have them continue investigating right away,” the director stammered.
Chloe thought momentarily before suggesting, “There should be surveillance on set. Check the footage. Maybe the power outage was deliberate.”
The director flinched at her words. “Deliberate?”
“Ms. Nelson, that’s impossible. No one in the crew would deliberately try to harm an actor.”
“Do you get to decide what’s possible or not?” Chloe shot back.
The director was speechless again.
What Chloe said was true, so he had no choice but to
immediately inform the team on set to follow her and Amanda’s suggestion.
“We’ve kept the news about his injury under wraps, so no
paparazzi or reporters will bother him for now. But with so

many people on set, there’s still a chance the news could leak,” Chloe added.
The director quickly reassured them, “Don’t worry, I’ll keep this under control. No one outside will know about Christopher’s injury.”
If the paparazzi got hold of the news, there would be no way to continue shooting the movie.
The atmosphere in the hospital hallway was tense. Michael called out to Chloe from outside the operating room, and she and Amanda rushed over, with the director and his team following closely behind.
The doctor came out of the operating room and asked, “Who’s the patient’s family?”
Ainsley wiped the tears from her face and stood up, saying she
was.
“The patient fell from a significant height, causing a fracture and break in his arm. Although the surgery was successful, I must warn you that his right hand may never fully recover.”
Chloe and Ainsley were both shocked to hear this.
“There must be a mistake. How could his hand be permanently injured?”
Ainsley exclaimed, unable to accept it.

“Calm down, Miss. I’m not saying his hand will be disabled. I’m saying it won’t be as good as it once was, though he’ll still be able to live normally. However, it could be problematic if he works in a job that heavily relies on his hands.”
Ainsley felt somewhat reassured, but still asked, “Is that the best possible outcome? What’s the worst–case scenario?”
The doctor looked at Ainsley but didn’t say anything further.
The answer was clear. If things didn’t go well, his hand could still end up disabled.
The crew members overheard the news and were just as shocked.
