“I don’t think I need to explain why I want to hurt her,” the woman responded.
Erik nodded. “You don’t have to, but I want your explanation now. If you don’t tell me, I will expose the deal between us.”
Erik didn’t want to waste any more time and just wanted to get the matter over with quickly.
The woman pressed her lips, and her face became serious.
“Or, tell me what happened between you and Chloe, and where you met,” said Erik.
He was trying to coax the woman into revealing the specific
reason.

He handed her his phone and said, “Record a message in my phone, saying that I have a business deal I want to discuss with you.”
Though confused, the woman complied with Erik’s request because he had leverage over her.
She recorded the sentence and returned the phone to him.
Upon listening to the recording, Erik furrowed his brow and listened to it again.
“You’re not the one I made a deal with,” he declared.
James and Michael, sitting in the car, were both taken aback by
Erik’s words.
Although they had suspected it, hearing Erik say it out loud surprised them.
