Chapter 44 Why Did You Help Me?1
Stella thought for a moment and faithfully recounted the whole thing to Trey.
Trey pondered for a moment and looked up at her.
“You’re right, there is a possibility. But it’s also possible that she got into other trouble and didn’t want to worry you, so she temporarily went into hiding.”
“Have you ever thought about how you would face Ethan in the future if Carina wasn’t taken away by him, as his wife, solely based on speculation, and you went to question him?”
Stella was startled.
She indeed had no evidence, just speculation.
Trey could tell from her expression that she did not have complete confidence.
“You go back first,” Trey’s voice was magnetic.“I will help you inquire about this matter first. If it’s not Ethan, I will also try my best to investigate her whereabouts for you.”
“If it were Ethan, I would also find a way to release your friend.”
Stella looked at Trey, hesitated a bit, and asked, “Why… did you help me?”
There was a fleeting emotion in Trey’s eyes, so fast that it couldn’t be captured.
“Ethan and I, we have been brothers since we were young, helping you is like helping Ethan.
And…”
He suddenly lowered his voice and said, “I never really liked Kaylyn, and I even thought… she was faking her illness.”
Stella suddenly looked at Trey and said, “Do you feel the same way too?”
Trey nodded, “However, this is just my personal speculation. It is better to say less about things without evidence.”
He paused for a moment and then said, “If you want to find Ethan, you need to have evidence. Right now, you don’t have any evidence, so how can you demand him to come? Leave this matter to me, I will help you investigate it thoroughly.”
Stella was persuaded by him and nodded gently.
“Mr. Glenn, thank you.”
Trey smiled politely and said, “If you don’t mind, just call me Trey.”

Stella nodded and also laughed along.
“Okay, Trey.”
Trey was also a scion of a wealthy family. He did not possess Ethan’s cold and imposing demeanor, nor did he have Cohen’s wild and unrestrained nature. He was a quintessential refined and noble gentleman.
He never blamed her when everyone was throwing stones at him, instead he often reminded Ethan not to jump to conclusions and that it wouldn’t hurt to wait until everything was investigated thoroughly.
To be honest, Stella had a pretty good impression of him.
Trey said in a warm tone, “You go back first, I will inform you as soon as there is. any news.
“Alright, then I’ll leave first.”
After Kaylyn fell asleep, Ethan arranged for someone to guard her bedside to prevent her from doing anything extreme again.
Leaving the ward, Ethan saw Trey standing in the hallway.
Ethan’s eyes flickered slightly, “How did you come?”
Trey turned around and said, “Carina, Stella’s friend, did you take her away?”
“Did you come over because of this matter?”
Trey turned around and said, “Stella came over not long ago, I just happened to run into her, she was the one who told me.”
Ethan’s deep eyes darkened.
“Ethan,” Trey looked at her, “I know Kaylyn is important to you, but no matter what, Stella is your wife, and you should always consider her dignity.”
In this way, Trey actually didn’t say any less, but Ethan always insisted on his own ideas. Once Stella finds out that you kidnapped Carina for Kaylyn, it will undoubtedly be a severe blow to her. The conflict between you two will be difficult to reconcile.
Ethan, however, didn’t mind, “Trey, don’t be fooled by Stella. A few days ago, Cohen even saw Stella go to the mall to buy clothes for Joel.”
and
“She knew very well that Kay didn’t have much time, yet she kept playing all sorts of tricks. Have you forgotten how she pretended to be sick, or even kidnapped, in an attempt to grab my Joel’s attention?”

Over the years, she had become accustomed to the life of luxury, and now that she had Joel, how could she bear to get a divorce? These were just her means of taking a step back in order to move forward.
Trey looked at Ethan, furrowed his brow, and was about to say something when the tightly closed. hospital room door suddenly swung open.
The female caregiver saw that Ethan had not gone far and immediately breathed a sigh of relief. “Mr. Dodson, luckily you are still here. Ms. Greer had a nightmare and couldn’t be woken up no matter how much we called. Please go in and have a look.”
Ethan nodded and walked back into the ward.
Trey watched as the man walked away, and in the end, he remained silent.
Stella waited for two days and finally received the message from Trey.
“I have found out that Carina was not taken away by Ethan,” Trey’s voice lacked any emotion, “It will take me a few more days to investigate her whereabouts, so don’t worry for now.”
Stella first breathed a sigh of relief, but then became nervous again.
What happened over there with Carina? Why did she have to hide?
After a fleeting moment of silence, Trey said, “It seems like we offended someone and are afraid of retaliation, so we decided to hide… Don’t worry, once we find Carina, I will figure out a way to handle it.”
Carina’s personality, indeed, easily offends people. Hearing Trey say this, Stella didn’t doubt it either.
After saying thank you, Stella hung up the phone.
However, shortly after hanging up the phone, a text message popped up on Stella’s cellphone.
“Stella, weren’t worried at all about your friend’s disappearance for so many days?”
you
Stella knew right away that it was a deliberate provocation message sent by Kaylyn.
She was too lazy to pay attention and was about to delete the text message, but a photo was sent first.

Carina was tied to a chair with tape over her mouth.
Stella’s eyes froze for a moment, and she immediately hung up the phone..
The phone, however, was hung up by someone.
Immediately after, another piece of information was transmitted.
“If you want to know about your friend’s whereabouts, come to this café. Don’t worry, I won’t do anything to you.”
Stella fell into deep thought as she looked at the address on the text message.
This is a very famous café located in the city center.
Under normal circumstances, even if she went by herself, she would not encounter any danger.
Shouldn’t hostage exchanges generally take place in remote locations?
Why did the other party want to invite her here?
Also, didn’t Trey tell her that Carina’s disappearance had nothing to do with Ethan?
Why did Kaylyn’s side know about Carina’s whereabouts?
Is it true that Carina was in Kaylyn’s hands?
A faint doubt emerged in her heart, she thought for a moment, and still went to the coffee shop.
The café had a decent number of people, and there was nothing unusual from the outside.
As I entered the coffee shop, a well–trained waiter greeted me.
“Miss, may I ask if you have an appointment?”
Stella mentioned her seat number, and the waiter led her over.
Just as Stella sat down, she saw a familiar figure.
Seemingly sensing her gaze, the woman gently lifted her head.
“Ms. Sutton, you came.”
Stella looked at the beautiful woman in front of her with a vigilant expression and asked, “Why did you ask me to come here? What is the matter?”
After Kaylyn ordered a cup of coffee, she looked at Stella again.
