Chapter 6
Olivia’s POV
It’s been a week of solitude here in the woods. There’s been no further incidences since I saw the trail of wolf prints outside. Yes, I still hear howls from a distance but they don’t venture near anymore. I’ve had a peaceful week: no phones, no visitors. Just nature and I.
Nothing lasts forever. I have to go into town to get supplies and check in at my job. My assistant, Sarah, sent several messages asking me for vital information on some clients.
Maybe I might be lucky to run into Lucian.
I shake that thought off. What good will come of that? He wasn’t mine to hunger for anymore.
I make my way through the open market, shopping for fresh groceries. There is hardly space to move around. I see my usual veggies vendor and I make my way towards him.
“Miss Tate, it’s been a while since I saw you. Did you go out of town?”
“Yes I did, Mr Russell. I needed a mini vacation“.
“It sure did you good. The colour is back to your cheeks. The usual order, right?”
“Of course. And add a pound of zucchini to that.”
A man trips on his feet and falls heavily on me, while trying to steady himself. I lose my balance and falls, crashing into the stall behind me. A protruding nail embeds itself in my palm. The pain…
A baby’s scream jerks me up. Did I just fall asleep on my feet? The pain felt so real.

As I look up at Mr Russell, I see a man from the corner of my eye, walking towards me. To my horror, he is the same man from my ‘dream‘. I watch the scene unfold, exactly as it did in the dream. It all happened in less than five seconds but I open my eyes to see a nail embedded in my palm. The pain…
“Don’t move Miss. Let’s get the nail out first. It looks like it didn’t go in deeply“.
So many faces and voices swirling around me. Someone yanks the nail out and puts a gauze over it. I hear voices yelling that I be taken for a Tetanus shot. Too many voices in my head…

Funny that I don’t feel the pain anymore. Maybe it wasn’t as deep as I feared. I remove the gauze to Took at the wound.

Before my very eyes, I see the wound closing, like it wasn’t ever there.
The voices around me go silent. Some begin to whisper.
“I thought she’s human. How did she heal so fast?”
“Even a werewolf doesn’t heal this fast. Is she a witch?”
I quickly stumble out of the crowd and hasten my steps out of the market. The voices gets louder, as I move farther away.
What’s happening to me?
A man bumped straight into me and threw me off balance. He held out his hand to help me up.
“I am so sorry, Miss. You were moving rather too fast.”
I look up and held out my hand. He grabbed me up and leaned close to my ears.
“It’s almost time. It’s awakening. Stop fighting it“.
I feel something cold pushed into my hand. I look down to see an old locket, with a strange wolf
emblem. I look up and the stranger’s vanished in the crowd.
The pictures in the locket is oddly familiar. I am sure I have never seen the couple or the little boy and baby girl, but something about them just….
“Sebastian, stop teasing your little sister. You are going to get her too excited for bedtime.”
“Mummy, look! I made Kiki’s pain go away“.
“Elena, go play outside. I need to talk with Mummy“.
I feel like my soul has been ripped out from me. Did I just have another ‘dream‘? But why am I ‘dreaming‘ about the couple and the little boy in the picture?
Or was that a memory of my unknown past?
I stumble in confusion, too many sounds swirling around me. Something leads my steps to a cafe round the corner. A familiar voice drifts above all other sounds.

That’s Lyanna’s voice. Who’s she talking to? And what does she mean by others and Blood Moon?
I move closer to the sound of her voice to catch a glimpse of her and her accomplice, but her next words stops me in my tracks.
“I smell her. She is close. I think I have to go get my congratulatory greetings from my husband’s ex.”
My heart is racing. I need to get out of here. I turn to flee and run straight into Lyanna.
“Hello Olivia. Fancy meeting you here. I’ve been waiting for you“, Lyanna drawled.
“Get out of my way,Lyanna. Or should I call you Luna now?”
She laughs heartily. Her eyes looks at me like I am insignificant.
“Awww, you are still hurting. All that time in the woods and you are still hurting. You must have loved him so much“, she gloated
My ears perk up. She knew where I was all this time? Did Rowan tell them?
She moves closer to me, close enough to stroke my cheek.
“Stay out of my way, Olivia. Stay out or be crushed. I am sure you already know I am not to be trifled
with.”
Her eyes begin to glow with a yellow light as I back away in fear. She laughs triumphantly and
saunters away.
The feel of the grass beneath my feet is wet and cold. The breeze strokes my face as I run fast in the
woods. I hear the howls from a distance and I howl back at them. I walk slowly towards the cabin and gingerly open the door. I catch my reflection as I walk past the mirror. My eyes are glowing golden…
This is the third time I am having this dream since I came back from the city. Nothing makes sense
anymore. But one thing I was sure of was Lyanna was a threat.
A sound outside gets my attention. I tiptoe to the window and peep at the clearing outside. I make out the figure of a man, standing off the edge of the woods.
“I know you can hear me from this distance. You are getting stronger and coming fully into your true self. Stop fighting it“.

“How can I hear you from so far a distance? Why do I hear so many voices at once in my head? And why do you keep alluding to a power or whatever?“, I cry out in frustration
He looks at me kindly. And with sorrow.
“Elena, all will be revealed tonight. Your true nature will be forced out and there is nothing you can
do to stop it.
“Unfortunately, this will bring more troubles to you and yours. We are here to help you, Elena“.
“I am strangely speechless. Something about his words ring true in my deepest heart. He stops again
at the edge of the moon and looks back at me.
“You do realise it’s going to be a full moon tonight?*
With that, he melts into the shadows of the woods.
The moon shines brightly into the cabin. I watch it with trepidation, wondering what’s going to happen. I go to the sink to pour a glass of water, and the moon rays falls directly on my face.
I feel a burning sensation. I feel so hot. I need to get some air. I am on fire.
I stagger out into the clearing, doubled in pain. My breath come in sharp gasps, each one more painful than the last. The sounds around me are sharper and the smell of the earth and distant prey fill my nostrils. The woods calls to me.
I run fast into the woods, trying to escape the pain and whatever was happening to me. I hear the
footfalls of someone behind me but I am too much in pain to care. I just want the pain to stop.
“Ahhh!!” I cry out from the depths of my soul.
My bones begin to shift. I hear the sickening crack of my bones stretching and contorting. My arms lengthens unnaturally and my hands twists into claws. The pain is unbearable but it comes with a rush of raw power.
“Don’t fight it Elena. Let it take its course.”
I recognise him as the man from the market who gave me the locket.
Coarse fur erupts from my skin. My vision sharpens and the once muted colours of the world is
