Isabella picked up her phone and saw it was Luna calling. A slight smile appeared on her lips as she answered softly, “Hey, Luna, what’s up?”
They had been so busy lately that they had
talked for a few days.
Luna lay on her white couch at home, lazily twirling her long bangs, and said in an exhausted voice, “Babe, let’s go out and have some fun. I’m so bored here.”
Due to her heart problems, Jessica had strictly forbidden her from going out to bars.
Luna felt like she would start growing mold if she stayed home any longer.
Isabella couldn’t help but let a small smile slip, saying with a light laugh, “I’m already out and about.”
Isabella could easily imagine Luna’s current look of despair.
Luna perked up instantly, jumping off the couch with excitement, and said, “Where is it? I’m coming over.”
When she was hanging out with Isabella, Jessica couldn’t really boss her around.
Isabella instinctively glanced at Samuel.
The event tonight was hosted by Samuel. Isabella was a bit worried about whether he would agree.
Checking with Samuel, Isabella gently asked, “I have a friend who wants to come. Is that okay?”
Samuel put down his fork and looked at Isabella, solemnly saying, “Your friends are
everyone’s friends here.”
Isabella was momentarily taken aback, and a small smile appeared on her face. “Okay,” she said.
She didn’t overthink it and replied directly to Luna, “Brilliance Restaurant.”
Luna couldn’t wait to change clothes, exclaiming excitedly, “Great, I’ll be there soon.”
Charles immediately felt a bit excited, and said, “If it’s Isabella’s friend coming, we definitely have to welcome her.”
Isabella’s friends must be beauties.
‘I can’t chase after Isabella, but her friends are certainly options. It looks like I might finally stop being single this year,’ he thought.
Charles‘ eyes were shining with anticipation.
Henry’s mouth twitched slightly and said, “With your attitude, you’re planning something bad again, aren’t you?”
They all clearly remembered when Charles bragged about pursuing Isabella.
Even when exposed, Charles wasn’t upset. He puffed out his chest and said, “Appreciating beauty is a real man’s trait–you guys don’t understand.”
Everyone burst out laughing.
Henry’s charming eyes couldn’t help but glance at Charles with a smile. He said, “You always manage to justify yourself, don’t you?”
Yet, every time it ended in failure.

Chapter 104
Isabella watched them joke around with a smile, while Samuel quietly picked food for her.

They joked and laughed for half an hour. The door to the private room was knocked on. Before Isabella could respond, Charles darted out ahead and said, “I’ll do it, don’t even try to take this from me.”
Charles moved faster than a rabbit.
Isabella and the others chuckled softly as they looked toward the door.

Charles stood at the doorway, tugging at his collar and straightening his clothes, and a bright smile spread across his face as he finally opened the room’s door.
He eagerly looked outside and warmly said, “Welcome…”
But, as Charles realized who was there, his smile vanished instantly. “You’ve got the wrong place,” he said coolly. Then all they heard was a big sound of closing the door.
Charles immediately shut the door. The entire sequence was fluid and swift.
Everyone inside the room looked completely baffled. Before Luna could react, Charles‘ figure flashed past her, and the door was already closed.
Her hand was still raised to knock. Luna’s mind froze for a moment. She thought, ‘Is the doctor just now that infamous doctor?‘
“Damn…” Luna lamented and thought, ‘What kind of luck it is today, running into him without checking my horoscope before leaving the house.
Luna felt a surge of anger rising inside her.
She pulled back her hand, taking a few deep breaths to calm down. ‘Stay cool, stay cool. I’m a kind, sweet fairy. I shouldn’t stoop to that quack’s level, she reminded herself. As she walked down the hallway, she glanced at the doors of the other
rooms.
Inside the room, Isabella initially thought the person had the wrong place, so she didn’t pay much attention.
The next moment, her phone suddenly rang.
Isabella’s eyes softened as she gently answered the call, “Luna, where are you?”
Luna was standing in the hallway, looking around, and asked Isabella, “Babe, which room are you in? I’m already in the hallway.”
Isabella’s smile deepened slightly as she replied, “I’ll come out to meet you.”
Saying this, she got up and walked towards the door.
Charles sat in his chair, grumbling, “What bad luck. You wouldn’t believe it, I just went out to open the door and ran into a total momosaur…”
His words got stuck in his throat, eyes wide in disbelief.
Henry, without glancing at the door, kept his curious gaze on Charles and asked, confused, “What do you mean by a momosaur?”
At that moment, the door opened, Isabella walked in from outside with Luna.
In that instant, Charles jumped up from
his chair, pointed at the doorway, and shouted, “Oh my God.”

Charles was shocked. Everyone turned to look at the door.

Before Isabella could even react, Luna glared at Charles, hands on hips, pointed at him, and snapped, “Hey Charles, what’s the idea? You knew I was coming and kept me outside. Didn’t you do it on purpose?”
She thought it was definitely the right room, so why were there different people?
Luna thought she might have remembered it wrong. It turned out that the jerk was right here. ‘What bad luck, she thought. Everyone present looked confused. But Charles wasn’t going to back down.
He slammed the table, rolled up his sleeves, pointed at Luna, and loudly argued back, “How was I supposed to know? If I had known you were coming today, I wouldn’t have shown up at all.
Right now, he wished he could be as far away from this troublesome woman as possible. Charles thought, ‘No one would want to mess with her.
Back at the hospital, he had already endured enough of her antics.
Luna wasn’t having any of it. She stormed forward and snapped. “Then just get lost. Who wants you here anyway?”
Henry pulled Charles aside and whispered, “That’s Isabella’s friend. Be careful.”
Though fuming, Charles held back his words, crossing his arms and glaring at Luna.
Isabella sat Luna down next to her, glancing between her and Charles suspiciously. “What’s going on with you two?”
Everyone was clueless. These two were like a powder keg, ready to explode the moment they met.
Charles scratched his head, getting angry just thinking about it. He pointed at Luna and said, “She doubted my medical skills and called me a thug.”
Everyone treated him like he was special since he was a child.
All the women chasing him could line up from here to Laetity, yet for the first time, he was being doubted by a woman.
How infuriating and intolerable. Luna sat next to Isabella, fuming and glaring at Charles. “Is it my fault? Just look at yourself. Do you look anything like a doctor?”
She
gave Charles a disdainful once–over and said, “What kind of good doctor acts so casually and has tattoos?”
‘How can someone like that be a doctor? Not at all trustworthy,‘ she thought.
Charles slapped the table and stood up, angry again. “Who says doctors can’t have tattoos? And by the way, I’ve got style. Have you ever heard of appreciating it?” he asked.
Luna couldn’t take it anymore and pretended to gag in disgust.
Isabella and the others gave a slight twitch of their eyebrows as they listened to the childish bickering, their eyes resting on the two who were arguing. A hint of amusement flickered in their eyes. They had initially worried the two might start fighting, but now it seemed they actually appeared somewhat well–matched.
Henry sized up Luna. No one would have thought she was a friend of Isabella. A director with such unique talent was indeed
a rare find.
Earlier, Luna had been too angry to notice the other people in the booth.
