Chapter 35
A group of men found themselves utterly powerless against Isabella. Hudson felt a surge of anger boiling inside him, but he was too scared to move forward, fearing that Isabella would unleash her fists on him.
With a swift kick, Isabella sent one of the bodyguards crashing to the ground, howling in pain. The bodyguard couldn’t even muster the courage to respond to Hudson’s furious shout. Who would dare to challenge a woman like Isabella? Why don’t do it yourself?’ the bodyguard thought.
you
The others stood frozen in fear, their earlier confidence quickly evaporating as they recalled the sharp pain from where she had kicked.
Hudson’s face darkened as he realized he had to restrain Isabella at all costs. He knew full well that if she walked away today, it would be near impossible to get her back.
Gritting his teeth, he barked, “Grab her! I’ll double your pay!”
Isabella’s heart turned cold at Hudson’s words, and she couldn’t help but tremble slightly. She glanced back at him, recognizing the desperation behind his tactics.
Clenching her fists tightly, she replied with an icy tone that seemed to echo from the depths of hell, “Do your worst!”
Those bodyguards, lured by the promise of double pay, lost their inhibitions and charged at Isabella without a second thought. They attacked her with renewed aggression, throwing punches and kicks at her from all directions. Despite her agility, being assaulted by six men at once meant she took quite a few hits.
The more pain she felt, the colder her gaze became. An aura of darkness enveloped her, sending chills down everyone’s spine. This pain was a reminder of what Hudson had done, and she would never forget about it.
With a sudden flip, she roared and moved so swiftly that it was hard to catch her motion. Like a blur, she left behind a series of afterimages. A moment later, all six bodyguards were sprawled on the ground, crying out in terror.
Hudson, alongside Molly and Ivana, stood in stunned silence. How could Isabella be this strong? These men are professional fighters, yet they are outmatched by a seemingly fragile girl. It’s infuriating to think I’ve invested so much in such useless people!‘ thought Hudson.
Isabella exuded an overwhelming aura of menace. With a blazing glare, she locked eyes with Hudson and declared, “From now on, we’re no longer father and daughter. Your condition has nothing to do with me.” She decided that everything had to come to an end today.
Hudson swallowed hard, feeling a wave of fear wash over him from her fierce, unfamiliar gaze. She was no longer the daughter he knew. Instinctively, he took two steps back.
Molly held back her panic and took a deep breath, thinking. ‘She can’t go! Otherwise, what would happen to the marriage alliance with the Lane family?‘ She knew how heartless Hudson could be. If they didn’t stop Isabella, he would surely set his sights on Ivana. She wouldn’t allow that to happen,
Molly suppressed her fear as she approached Isabella, trying to reason with her. “Isabella, you might be misunderstanding the situation. Cameron’s not who you think he is; he’s been slandered by rival companies. When your meet him, you’ll see. Plus, how could your father ever want to harm you? You just need to…
Suddenly, Isabella’s piercing gaze turned toward Molly, making her words stick in her throat. She couldn’t finish her sentence.
Isabella’s cold stare swept over the three of them before she turned on her heel and left without looking back. Her departure left everyone in the hall in an awkward silence.
Ivana felt a surge of panic as she recalled everything that just happened. If Isabella didn’t get together with Cameron, then Jayden would always be hung up on her. She decided she had to come up with a plan.
Hiding her panic in her eyes, Ivana glanced at Hudson, worry etched on her face. “Dad, what should we do? Isabella’s skills are incredible… A few bodyguards were no match for her. This was turning into a real mess.
Molly stepped in, echoing Ivana’s concern. ‘Right, if she refuses, our cooperation with the Lane family could fall apart.” Remembering the look Isabella had given her earlier, a chill ran down Molly’s spine. That little brat is getting too powerful: we have to ruin her life. If she gets too strong, it will spell disaster; thought Molly,

Chapter 35
Molly understood Hudson’s priorities well–family interests came first, and she was going to make sure he remembered that. Finally, to drive her point home, she added, “Cameron is seriously infatuated with Isabella.” She wanted Hudson to realize that it had to be Isabella.
Hudson’s expression darkened even more. He lifted his gaze toward the direction Isabella had left and scoffed. “We’ll send her to Cameron’s bed even if we have to tie her up!” He could not allow her to ruin their partnership with the Lane family.
Ivana exchanged glances with Molly. Both of them wore sly smiles. Isabella, do you really think you can run forever? Dream on they thought.
In the towering office building of the Howerton Group, the top floor was a bustling hive of activity. Secretaries hurried past. each immersed in their tasks. Inside the CEO’s office, the decor was sleek and minimalistic, featuring a grey carpet and a set of elegant black leather sofas paired with a matching coffee table–an aesthetic that exuded sophistication.
From the expansive floor–to–ceiling windows, one could overlook the entire downtown Draxenport, a symbol of commercial power and dominion in the city.
At his desk, Samuel sat with a serious expression, engrossed in reviewing documents. His icy demeanor caused secretaries to instinctively slow their steps as they passed by the CEO’s office.
The door was rapped lightly. Samuel parted his lips, his voice cold as he commanded, “Come in.”
Perry strode forward, standing before Samuel with a slight bow. “Mr. Howerton, today Mrs. Howerton returned to the Stout. residence.
Samuel paused, his focus shifting abruptly. His cold gaze fixed on Perry.
Not wanting to delay. Perry pressed on, “Her father brought six bodyguards and tried to force her to stay.”
The atmosphere in the room plummeted. Samuel’s intense stare made Perry shudder uncontrollably; the tension felt suffocating.
“Apparently, they plan to bind her in marriage with Cameron Lane. Mrs. Howerton resisted, and things turned violent,” Perry added.
Samuel’s grip on his pen tightened, the sound of it snapping echoing in the room.
Perry felt a chill run down his spine, anxiety flooding his thoughts. Mr. Howerton is furious! Does Hudson really want to gamble with his life? His daughter is Mrs. Howerton now, and no one can lay a finger on her, thought Perry.
Samuel’s gaze, sharp as ice, didn’t drift towards Perry but remained focused on a distant point as he stated, “I’ve heard the Stout family is eyeing the Lane family’s land”
