Chapter 40
The woman wore a tank top and hot, sexy denim shorts that accentuated her curvy figure. Her long waves of hair cascaded down to her waist, and a pair of sunglasses covered half her face, revealing only her sexy red lips. Despite the disguise, Luna recognized her at a glance.
Her eyes lit up as she called out, “Luna? What are you doing here?”
Shawn looked up and immediately spotted Isabella among the crowd. Without hesitation, she ripped off her sunglasses, and her eyes sparkled with excitement. “Oh my god, Isabella?!” she shouted.
In an instant, she dashed over to Isabella and swept her into a tight hug, her face beaming with joy. Isabella gently patted her back, her smile wide. She never expected to run into her best friend, Luna, here at Shawn’s place.
As they pu
pulled apart, Luna took Isabella’s hand, her brow furrowed in confusion. “What are you doing here?”
Shawn was equally baffled, clearly caught off guard by the fact that Luna and Isabella knew each other. “Luna, you guys know each other? This is the great doctor I invited to help your cousin, he explained.
Luna’s brain was a whirl of questions. “Great doctor? Uncle, are you joking?”
‘My best friend is a doctor? No way! Luna couldn’t believe it, but Shawn’s serious face told her this was no joke. “Wait, are you really a great doctor? Luna leaned closer to Isabella and whispered.
Isabella chuckled softly, her eyes sparkling with amusement. “They call me that, but I’m just a regular doctor who knows how to treat patients.” She was surprised too–turns out Shawn was Luna’s uncle. What a small world!
Luna’s eyes widened in disbelief. This was her first time hearing about Isabella’s medical skills, and she seemed to really have it together. She looked at Isabella with newfound admiration, saying, “Why didn’t you tell me? How could you hide it from your best friend?
Isabella chuckled awkwardly, saying, “I just never brought it up before.”
“No! You’ve been hiding it from me!” Luna pouted, a playful annoyance in her tone.
Isabella laughed, “Okay, fine! From now on, if you have any issues, I’ll give you a 10% discount.”
*10%?” Luna exclaimed, grabbing Isabella’s cheeks. George, who had been watching with amusement, couldn’t help but snicker. Isabella squirmed a little as Luna huffed, “Most people would treat their besties for free, and you only give me a discount? Are you even a true friend?”
The laughter in the living room was contagious. Luna’s fiery, easy–going personality was something everyone had learned to
love.
“Alright, alright. Let’s eat first and talk later, Cheryl said, stepping forward.
“I’ll let you off this time! I’m starving!” With that, Luna released her grip and grabbed Isabella, pulling her along.
Luna’s fiery personality kept a grin plastered on Isabella’s face, unable to fade even for a moment.
George, seated beside Isabella, couldn’t take his eyes off the vibrant girl in front of him. Leaning closer, he whispered, “I can’t believe your best friend is the famous director Lunal”
Luna White was the dream girl of so many men. She didn’t act, but her popularity in the entertainment industry rivaled that of A–list stars. With a sizzling figure and stunning looks, she was a renowned director responsible for numerous blockbuster hits. Many watched her in envy.
Isabella simply smiled, not yet ready to respond, when Luna tilted her head to look at George. With a playful finger trailing her cheek, she feigned a seductive smile, saying. “Now you know, right? Are you utterly charmed by me?”
‘Her confidence is unmatched, George thought and almost choked on his drink. His face turned bright red from the violent coughing, but he managed to give Luna a thumbs–up, saying, “Impressive!”
Isabella’s smile grew wider. Usually, George was all swagger, but finally, he’d met someone who could match him.
Luna burst out laughing. Then she turned to Isabella, putting her fork down. Her radiant face took on a serious tone, “Bella,

I’m gearing up to shoot a big historical drama. How about becoming my leading lady?”
Luna was practically drooling over Isabella’s breathtaking looks. This face is way too perfect for the entertainment industry. and we’ve spent plenty of time together. I absolutely love her acting skills! Luna thought.
Isabella raised an eyebrow, a little taken aback, and glanced at Luna. “Your eye for talent is sharp; how can I possibly do it?”
The main reason Luna’s films were so successful wasn’t just her knack for choosing scripts. It was also because the cast had to be gorgeous and talented. Ordinary people couldn’t even get a minor role in her productions.
Luna’s excitement bubbled over, asking. “Why can’t you? I’ve asked you like a hundred times! Your looks and acting skills could shine brighter than anyone else! I promise I can make you the biggest star!” After all, Isabella’s beauty could be a game- changer in the industry.
Isabella was left speechless.
Luna laughed as she leaned closer to Isabella, playfully raising her eyebrows. “So, what do you say? Want to team up with me?”
If Isabella joined the entertainment industry, she’d probably win awards left and right. Just thinking about it made Luna feel giddy with excitement.
Isabella twitched her lips, looking a bit annoyed as she pushed Luna’s face away. “You can take your enthusiasm elsewhere. Why don’t you go support someone else?”
With a single sentence, Luna’s daydream shattered. Her bright smile fell away, replaced by disappointment. She sighed dramatically, shaking her head. “Ugh, what a shame.”
Meanwhile, George, with his baby face, leaned in closer and playfully tossed his hair back. “If she won’t do it, what about me? My ridiculously handsome face will definitely launch your career to new heights. How about it. Director White?” He ended with a flirty wink.
Luna’s smile vanished in an instant, and she immediately backed away. “You look too much like a teenager to be my leading man. Besides, teenagers don’t flirt like you.”
George’s face darkened instantly. “Why can’t you see how good–looking I am?”
With that, George started rolling up his sleeves. “No one can stop me! I’m going to But it turned out no one was moving to stop him. They all stared at him like he was a weirdo. George’s expression grew even darker as he shot an annoyed look at Isabella. “Aren’t you going to do something?”
