Kieran spoke calmly, “A mere ploy. I’ve seen it all before. She’s showing weakness to draw me in. Let’s play along and see what tricks she’s pulled this time at the hospital.”
‘Is that so?‘ Jarrett felt something was off from Kieran’s assumption. ‘Wouldn’t Ms. Dawson have contacted us directly if it were a ploy? Why wait until she was already in the hospital without a hint of reaching out to Mr. Sutton?‘
But Jarrett kept his thoughts to himself, quickly pressing the gas pedal and heading toward Crescent Medical Center.
