Freya, nursing her injured arm with a smirk, added, “Mr. Sutton calling off the engagement was a blow, sure. But what’s done is done. Please, Johanna… try to keep your spirits up.”
Without Kieran as her future son–in–law, Johanna lost her influence and couldn’t strut around as before. This situation suited Freya just fine.
Moreover, without Kieran, Johanna had no way to repay the enormous debt she owed.
As Freya ascended the stairs, Johanna, in a fit of desperation, shouted, “You owe everything to me! You went after your brother, and now me! How could you be so ungrateful? Listen here, I don’t care what it takes, you’re going to make Mr. Sutton take you back. Do you hear me, Freya?”
Freya didn’t offer a single reply.
Back in her room, Freya couldn’t help but smile. It was her first day breaking free from Kieran, and despite the challenges, it felt like a new beginning.

Just then, a commotion outside caught her attention.
“Mr. Sutton!”
It was Johanna’s voice that piqued Freya’s interest.
Before she could figure out what was happening, Kieran was already storming up the stairs.
“Freya! Get out here!” With a loud bang, he pushed open the door to her bedroom.
“Mr. Sutton, barging into a lady’s bedroom in the middle of the night isn’t exactly proper, Freya remarked, frowning.
Kieran was livid, and seeing the rage in his eyes, Freya wondered what had upset him this time.
The next moment, he was dragging her out of the room.
“Kieran! What are you doing? Let me go!* 2
Her expression darkened, particularly as his grip worsened the pain in her injured hand.
“Kieran! Let go!”
But Kieran was unyielding, dragging her down the stairs. Freya stumbled and almost fell, but Kieran didn’t even glance back. Under Johanna’s watchful eye, he dragged Freya out of the Dawson residence.
“Kieran! You-”
Before she could finish, Kieran suddenly let go, causing her to fall. She hit the ground hard, her arm scraping against a rock and bleeding.
