“Get out, can’t you hear me?”
Kieran’s gaze grew colder by the second.
Kara shivered under Kieran’s stern look, “I… Mr. Sutton…”
Trying to mimic someone else’s success, what’s your game?”
“Do you think dressing up like Freya, trying to win my favor like Ellie, or perhaps you’re after something more?”
“No… No…”
Kieran could see Kara’s intentions clear as day, and her face grew paler.
“Leave!” Kieran shouted, his expression as dark as thunder.
Panic painted Kara’s face as she hurriedly cleared the table of its dishes.
As Kara hurried away, Kieran’s thoughts couldn’t help but drift to Freya. He had always observed how painstakingly careful Freya was. Back then, he suspected Freya had ulterior motives; he never believed in genuine affection.
All of Freya’s actions, he thought, were aimed at benefiting from him.
Even today, his thoughts remained unchanged.
Yet, while tasting Kara’s cooking, all he could think of was Freya.
Even though the dishes looked almost exactly like Freya’s, something about the taste just wasn’t right.
It wasn’t the dish; it was the person behind it that made the difference.
Realizing this, Kieran leaned back on his couch, massaging his temples.
Lately, his mind was cluttered with thoughts of Freya.
This woman’s tactics were so sophisticated that they were interfering with his work.
He couldn’t let this continue.
Kieran promptly called Jarrett.
“Mr. Sutton.”
“Has the expert team arrived at Crescent Medical Center?”
“They have.”
“Going forward, I don’t want to hear about Freya’s matters anymore. Once Freya’s recovery is confirmed, I intend to sever all ties with her.”
Jarrett paused, slightly taken aback.
Sever all ties with Freya?
What had suddenly gotten into Mr. Sutton?
“Just do as I say.”
With that, Kieran hung up, leaving Jarrett looking puzzled. Had Ms. Dawson done something unforgivable again?
But that couldn’t be right; Ms. Dawson had been home all day, not stepping out once.
What was going on with Mr. Sutton?
The next morning, Freya was surprised to find the Sutton family’s entourage had been moved from her building.
Before she could revel in her relief, there was a knock at the door.
Upon opening it and seeing Jarrett, she asked, “What brings you here so early?”
