Jarreft quickly responded, “Right away I’ll see to it.”
After Jarrett left, Kieran put down the documents he was holding, his mind inevitably replaying the words Jarrett had said.
Freya had moved out quietly. It seemed she was scared out that night. But that was fine. After all, Freya’s matters had nothing to do with
him anymore.
That was what Kieran thought, though his face involuntarily showed signs of fatigue. He rubbed his nose, trying to banish thoughts of Freya from his mind.
In his world, his job was always top of the list. There was no slot for someone like Freya who could throw a spanner in all his life plans. Meanwhile, Freya sat motionless before the vanity, letting the makeup artist and stylist work their magic on her. For two hours, Freya

“Are we done yet?” Freya was on the verge of a breakdown.
The makeup artist beside her said, “Ms. Dawson, please don’t move. Almost done.”
“You said that half an hour ago.” Freya looked a bit wronged.
She was already hurt, with several wounds on her body. To cover them up, the makeup artist used some specially–made materials to cover them and blended the surrounding skin with foundation, making it look flawless.
Freya had no idea where Ronan found such a magician. From ten minutes ago, Freya could barely recognize herself.
“How much longer?”
This time, it was Ronan asking.
“Just a moment!” The makeup artist assured Ronan with conviction.
The stylist also sped up, noticing it was five in the afternoon. Finally, the makeup artist put down the setting spray, declaring, “Done!” Freya opened her eyes to see the girl in the mirror with sultry eyes, looking unrealistically beautiful. She had an icy demeanor similar to a celestial being descended from the heavens, yet her enchanting eyes added a seductive quality that complemented her chilly aura. Her makeup wasn’t heavy, but her bright red lips were irresistibly enticing. A beauty mark under her eye added an extra touch of allure. Freya had never seen herself dressed up like that, and she was momentarily stunned.
Looking at her work as if it were a masterpiece, the makeup artist said, “Ms. Dawson’s natural beauty is outstanding. It was the makeup techniques before that didn’t do her justice. Appearing in public like this, she could be mistaken for a top celebrity. No, she’s more like a muse!”
Normally, Freya might’ve just waved off the makeup artist’s comparison as a bit over the top. But catching her own reflection, she couldn’t help but think that even goddess might be selling it short.
Ronan stepped forward, gently holding Freya’s chin and tilting her face side to side, saying, “You look stunning.”
“Do you think I look like Freya now?”
Ronan seriously said, “Only about sixty to seventy percent resemblance. The old Freya would never dress up like this.”
