Principal Martin spotted the bewildered proctor, Mr. Thompson, and approached to inquire, “What’s got you staring into space? How did Ms. Dawson fare?”
Mr. Thompson, at a loss for words, simply handed the exam paper to Principal Martin.
The exam was filled with densely packed, well–structured, and high–caliber answers.
Skeptical, Principal Martin checked the remaining questions, only to find them flawlessly answered as well.
“Did you leak the answers to her?”
Faced with the principal’s question, Mr. Thompson hurriedly denied, saying, “No, absolutely not!”
He insisted, “I didn’t help her with the answers at all. She did it all by herself!”
aring that Freya had managed this feat on her own left Principal Martin dumbfounded.
Hadn’t Freya taken a break from school? How could she achieve such a high level?
Outside, students cast curious glances towards Freya, their eyes filled with scrutiny.
“Why does she get to take the test outside the classroom?”
“Didn’t they say she was injured?”
“Injured? Looks more like she’s pulling strings because she’s got connections with Mr. Sutton.”
Doubts hung heavy in the air, but Freya remained cool and collected.
Luna rushed to Freya’s side, asking, “Reya, what happened when they took you out? Did they bully you? Was Kieran trying to mess with you?”
Luna was genuinely concerned for Freya.
Freya shook her head, “I’m fine. It was just a normal exam session.”
“That scared me!”
Relieved it was just a normal exam, Luna said, “I thought Kieran was out to get you. You wouldn’t believe how nasty the other students were talking!”
“What were they saying?”
“What else? That you had an unfair advantage!”
Luna was fuming, “You’ve barely managed to learn to write with your left hand, and now? Now they suspect you of having an unfair advantage. I really can’t tell if Kieran is trying to help or just making things worse.”
Freya knew Kieran’s involvement wouldn’t bring anything good.
But the exam was over, with another one tomorrow and the last one the day after.
She just hoped Kieran wouldn’t show up every time.
Meanwhile, Eloise had already left the exam area and quickly spotted a luxury car parked outside the school gates. She ran towards Kieran, calling out, “Kieran!”
Kieran turned, his expression turning sour upon seeing Eloise approaching.
Eloise, pale–faced and obviously distressed from her exam performance, confronted him, “Kieran, did you pull strings for Freya?”
She was appalled at Kieran’s blatant favoritism.
Jarrett intervened, “Ms. Harwood, you’re mistaken, Mr. Sutton didn’t-”
“I saw it with my own eyes!”
Eloise, holding back tears, protested, “Kieran, you can’t do this to me! It’s just not fair!”
“Are you done?”
Kieran’s tone grew colder.
Stunned, Eloise fell silent.
With a dismissive tone, Kieran said, “Ellie, I’m truly disappointed in you.”
Then, Kieran revealed a cheat sheet that had fallen to the ground.
