Eloise felt a chill run down her spine at those words.
“What? Expelled? But we’re about to graduate. Why are we being expelled now?”
“Exactly, sir, you owe us an explanation! Why on earth are we being expelled all of a sudden?”
The tension was obvious among the two student council members standing nearby, pushing the Dean for answers.
However, the Dean’s face remained impassive as he retorted, “The nerve of you to ask why? First, take a good look at what you’ve done! Sneaking into the proctor’s office to change your test papers? Have you lost your minds? Who gave you the nerve to do that?”
As their scheme was laid bare, the culprits‘ faces turned ashen.
They thought they had covered their tracks perfectly, having even shut down the electricity to the floor where the proctor’s office was located before making their move.
Who could have leaked their secret?
“Sit, do you have any evidence of these accusations?” Eloise managed to ask, struggling to maintain her composure.
But the Dean had heard enough. “What more evidence do you need? The evidence is with the Department of Education. The issue has escalated, and with the Department stepping in, all the proof is irrefutable. Not only did you alter your own papers, but you also maliciously destroyed others‘. Eloise, as the president of the student council, you’re facing expulsion. You should be more concerned about your own future now.”
Hearing this, the panic among the members of the student council was palpable.
“Sir, I had nothing to do with this! I didn’t alter any papers! Those are my real scores!”
“Yeah, this was all Eloise’s doing! We had nothing to do with it! She’s the president; we just followed her lead!”
“Right! Eloise was the one who destroyed the papers, not us!”
As the truth emerged, everyone was quick to throw Eloise under the bus.
After all, it was her idea in the first place that led them down this risky path.
And nobody expected this year’s graduation exam passing score to drop so significantly, making their original scores more than enough to graduate. They thought, at worst, they could just retake the exam.

“Of course, it was directly from the principal. Do you think I have the power to expel you on my own?”
The Dean then added solemnly, “For the rest of the student council, getting expelled is the best you can hope for. In the future, you might have to look for education somewhere else, maybe even abroad. But Eloise, you’re being expelled, blacklisted by Summit University. It’s not going to be easy for you to find another prestigious university. However… we all know that Ms. Harwood doesn’t necessarily need a university degree, considering Mr. Sutton has got your back. He’ll likely sort everything out for you.”
Even though Summit University was filled with the children of wealthy entrepreneurs, Kieran Sullivan was the most influential backer in Echo City.
