“Let go.” Kieran’s gaze was icy cold.
Eloise was taken aback by the frigid look in Kieran’s eyes.
As Kieran turned to leave, Eloise quickly caught up to him. “Fine, you may not like me, and that’s okay. But you have to help me with this graduation mess.”
Hearing this, Kieran frowned.
“I can’t get expelled. You said you’d always have my back! If I get kicked out, I’ll be a laughingstock, Kieran. Even if our childhood friendship doesn’t mean much to you anymore, you should at least keep your promise.”
Eloise stared defiantly at Kieran.
Even if Kieran had no feelings for her, he had to help her out with this. She refused to become the joke of Echo City.
Kieran felt like he had never truly known the woman standing before him.
Without a word, he walked away.
“Kieran! You promised to always look out for me, to never let anyone bully me! Kieran!”
Despite the woman’s cries behind him, Kieran remained silent.
Indeed, he had made a promise, and even if he was reluctant, he had to fulfill it.
Jarrett approached Kieran, asking, “Mr. Sutton, should we give the Department of Education a heads–up? If Ms. Harwood does get expelled, she won’t be able to show her face in Echo City.”
“Go ahead and make the call.”
Kieran felt a headache coming on.
He hoped this would be the last time he’d have to bail Eloise out.
“Understood.”
Jarrett quickly made the call to the Department of Education and then returned to Kieran’s side.
Dealing with the Department of Education was different from dealing with a principal.
This time, it seemed Kieran would have to personally intervene for Ms. Harwood’s sake.
Meanwhile, Freya stepped out of the principal’s office and spotted Luna waiting outside the building.
Seeing Freya, Luna immediately ran up and grabbed her arm, asking, “How did it go? Is everything sorted?”
“It should be.”
With the Department of Education stepping in, Eloise and those student council members were definitely facing expulsion.
Luna breathed a sigh of relief.
“I thought Eloise was untouchable, but it seems even Mr. Sutton can’t save her this time.”
Then, looking up at Freya, Luna said, “By the way, Reya, I saw Kieran and Jarrett heading towards the building earlier. Did you see him?
“I did.”
“For Eloise?”
“Who else would it be for?”
“Right, I saw him rushing to the building, so it had to be for Eloise.”
Everyone knew Eloise was Kieran’s weak spot.
If not for dealing with Eloise’s situation, Kieran wouldn’t have hurried to the school.
“This time, it’s not just Eloise in trouble; even the principal might face consequences.”
