We were waiting for his aunt.” The puppy licked my hand. Tears welled up. I laughed through my tears.“Alex, what else are you hiding?”
“Quite a lot.” he said, completely serious.“If you want to hear it, I’ll tell you later.” He wiped away my tears.“Assuming you’ll give me the chance.”
I held the puppy. A sweetness bloomed in my chest.“Alex,” I said.“Let’s call him Wish.” Happy and Wish, being together. Everything would be alright.
