<<Finding New Happiness) Chapter 14: The Wedding Dress
Mures
After explaining the situation to all my friends and family, my wedding with Alex went ahead as planned. When Daisy arrived with my wedding dress, I was completely taken aback. It wasn’t the one I ordered.“Alex returned yours and bought the one you tried on.” How did he know? He’d said he was busy and didn’t go.
“What are you thinking? Hurry up and try it on!”
With everyone crowding around me, I slipped into the wedding dress. It wasn’t until the makeup was finished that I looked in the mirror and felt a sense of disorientation. Just as I was about to ollow Alex to the hotel for the ceremony, a group of men barged in around Bryce. “Alice, you can only be my bride.” I didn’t expect this. The cameraman hesitated. Bryce’s cameraman, however, was ready, capturing every moment. Bryce strode towards me. “You can’t marry him. You’re my bride! I was wrong, I admit it all. Alice, please, give me another chance. I’ve sent Bella away. I’ve gotten rid of the irises. If you marry me, I’ll do anything.” Hearing those words, I felt no stir of emotion. This was the first time Bryce had lowered himself to plead with me. But it was all too late. Seeing my lack of reaction, he knelt in front of me.“I’ve arranged your dream seaside wedding. Your favorite singer’s performing. You always wanted to be my bride, remember? This is the ring you designed. I have it.”
As he spoke, Bryce pulled out the pair of rings and held them out to me. I gazed at the dazzling rings before me. He still didn’t understand. At the moment he repeatedly tipped the scales in favor of Bella, this ring had long lost its meaning.
I reached out and threw the ring out the window.
Bryce panicked completely. Realizing what I had done, he lunged to grab it, but ended up tumbling off the balcony. The people around didn’t even react in time to pull him back. This was the twenty–third floor.
