1 squinted my eyes in sleep when sunlight bothered me. However, it still didn’t help since it was glaring at me and thus I tried turning to the other side and the moment, I did, my eyes shot open due to the sharp pain in my abdomen.
I whimpered and lay down on my back again staring at the ceiling above as the scenes from last night revolved around me one by one before flooding inside my head like a blue movie.
I warmed up and felt my body shudder with a wet release making me even more embarrassed. I pressed my legs together and pulled the sheets up to my chest after I peeked at the marks littered like red sequins on my body.

I didn’t have the energy in me to roll the wheels of my brain anymore. I was just suddenly feeling calm. The tingles from before have disappeared leaving nothing in their wake.
I released a phonetic breath and tried getting up despite the waves of pain chaining my body. I cursed Damian, which felt surprisingly good and was about to get off the bed with the speed of an old woman when suddenly the commotion outside. my doors startled me.

What was happening outside? I tried standing up when the door suddenly opened and Lucia stood there in another one of her flashy dresses.

I flushed with shame when I realised that the nightgown also wasn’t helping much and turned around with my back facing hers. I then heard quick footsteps approaching me and soon a len shawl was wrapped around my shoulders.
I looked up and found frantic Julia and Anna gazing at me with concern and their gazes flicked back and forth between me and Lucia. I then understood what was the commotion about.
I stood
up and turned around to face Lucia who had concealed her surprise by now,
“Good morning. Lucia. May I ask the reason behind your sudden visit to my chambers in the morning?” I asked, displeased by her sudden visit and also the commotion which happened because of her.
“It’s not morning but noon and just like I said last night, I came to help you, Liliana since you are not just enduring being in a new pack but also Damian as your husband. He is not a good partner so I understand and that’s why I am here for you
I couldn’t comprehend what she said for a second. Is she insulting Damian, their alpha, in front of me? His wife? Initially, I got a little embarrassed when she mentioned that it was noon and not morning but the rest of her words just acted like an explosive.
“Who told you that Damian is not a good partner?” I asked, controlling my anger as I felt my instincts driving me. I was angry because she insulted my mate!

Now, that I think, it’s also very displeasing of you to run your mouth so boldly when you entered inside the very person’s home uninvited whom you are slandering here” I said, glaring at her for being a nuisance early morning.

“Liliana, you are taking my words wrong! I was just concerned and I might have come without giving prior notice but it was because I was excited to see you and I also wanted to keep my word”
