Reward?
“It’s not like that! I was concerned because the wound looked der. After all, you slashed open your palm with a dagger and it still hasn’t healed properly.” And I feel responsible for that.
I couldn’t say the last words because I was still scared of addressing the issue of the ball. I didn’t know how he accepted the fact about me being a half–blood and it was petrifying to ask it myself.
“It has started healing and it is enough,” He said emotionlessly, curbing the topic as he was about to turn around and continue walking.
“Is worrying about your well–being wrong?” I end up asking, feeling frustrated because of the thing, ‘emotion‘ or maybe things, emotions‘ I feel unlike him before I realized I got tricked by them.
“Yes, you don’t have to. Like I said the last time, don’t pretend and expect anything from me in return he let the words wrapped in anger scald my skin and I retorted with the same.
“Then don’t get hurt and make me pretend,” I said and his pupils widened before he shrunk them into the icicles he always hung up in there and turned around without saying anything.
The walk through the rest of the greenhouse became awkward and I kept grumbling about him inside as holding hands with him didn’t feel any special anymore but we were still holding them.
I expected him to leave my hand and let me trail behind him while he walked super fast but he was still matching my pace and we soon exited the greenhouse, walking towards the village now.
Not long after, the village appeared lit brighter than our mansion with more people bustling the streets than our ball.
Truly, it was a sight to behold with happy faces roaming everywhere in beautiful shops filled with different eye–catching products.
Mouth–watering food stalls and many more lively activities take place a little far in the centre plaza of the market. The carlier awkwardness faded away in the glee of the festival as we explored the market with eager steps.
Walking by the different shops had me react animatedly to every one of them. The market was a plethora of bright colours. and warm hues of lights glowing in every shape there is.
From bulb lights to string lights and much more! We walked side by side, observing the loud market when suddenly I stopped at a shop which sold beautifully crafted jewellery ornaments,
There were different ornamental hand bracelets, hairpins, rings etc. I had my eyes set on hand bracelets and a locket. They were truly pieces of fine craftsmanship.
the black One of the hand bracelets was truly striking. The silver–platinum chain ran from the middle finger to the arm on piece of the mannequin in a beautiful twirl before it was weaved with three small pearls and one big pearl before the pattern was repeated until it was met with another twirl which branched into another similar twirl which had another big pearl attached to it as its another smaller branch.
And under the moonlight, the whole bracelet glowed into a mysterious pale blue colour making it look mystical. It was a pair.

The locket which attracted me at first glance was a simple gold chain locket with a grey diamond heart wrapped in a golden crescent moon. It was pretty just like Damian’s eyes.
“Do you want to buy them?” Damian asked from my side and hileep voice knocked against the wall of my heart as if making it aware of its presence without knowing that it already started to respond even before it approached it
“Yes, I replied and he started asking the shopkeeper for the price of the bracelet and the locket.
“You women have sharp jewellery. They are no less than a weapon” Damian said, picking up a hairpin while the shopkeeper packed our order.
I couldn’t help but laugh. Well, for a woman her jewellery was denitely a weapon on every occasion she appears but I am sure Damian is talking about another kind of weapon.
“Are they better than your swords and bows?”
“Maybe. They are stealthier and easy to carry I suppose” Damian aid, analysing the hairpin seriously while I stifled my giggle.
“Why? Are you considering using them? Perhaps try putting one in your hair” I said, pressing my lips together as I held my laugh.
He looked at me for a moment with one of his eyebrows quirked up in amusement before his lips tilted into a smirk.
“I don’t need to do this because I have a wife who is already quite dangerous without them. She dares to bite an Alpha and her best technique is how she lures that alpha to her bed, making him lose control as she sucks him dry to the last drop. scratching him like her own canvas till it bleeds
I screamed inaudibly as I quickly covered his mouth, blushing Turiously.
“What are you saying!” I hissed, quickly looking everywhere before I pinned my gaze back at him whose eyes were curved gleefully.
“Do you want me to repeat it?” He said, pulling my hands away from his mouth as he tugged me a little closer to him, releasing a delicious scent I was unable to avoid.
It was he whose technique is master seduction and sinful charm
“No, I don’t want to hear it. It’s a lie anyway.
“Really? You are so humble. You don’t want to hear your praise”
Praise? I looked at him baffled as he smiled which was almost a laugh.
“You are such a skilled warrior, as stealthy and smart as an assassin who can do anything to its prey, vulnerable and drunk on your beauty in your bed”
His voice was suddenly low as he caressed my cheek before tucking a stray hair strand behind my ears, and whether it was my imagination or he really pulled my face, slightly close, I felt my face much closer to his than before as I felt his hot breath caress my cheek and then whole face next when suddenly the shopkeeper addressed us in his loud voice.
“Here’s your product, dear Sir and Mam”
