He didn’t come
1 jerked up from the bed with frizzy hair getting in my eyes.
He didn’t come last night after all those big flaming words he left within these four walls and I am glad he didn’t….
I should be glad he didn’t and yet I feel disappointed as if I wanted him to come.
What’s wrong with me!?

Even after how arrogantly he walked away yesterday, I still wanted him to come? I must have gone crazy with exhaustion.
Why would I wait for him and then feel upset over the fact that he didn’t visit me yesterday?
Instead, I should be happy he didn’t come.

Why am I spoiling my mouth with bad words the first thing in the morning because of him? Yes, I am glad that he didn’t

I sighed and got ready to get off the bed when as usual Julia and Anna came to greet me.
“Good Morning, Luna. Did you have a good rest?” Anna asked and I nodded.
“Yes, I had the best sleep and I feel refreshed” That’s a lie.
“Great, then when should we plan your appointment with the doctor?” Julia asked and I marvelled at her persistence.
“Arrange it whenever you see fit after the breakfast,” I said, shaking my head with a smile after watching her happy face.
She really wanted to do that huh?
I got out of bed next and was about to get busy with my daily chores when Anna dropped a bomb before I could take another step.
“Luna, there’s a present for you from your birth pack. It is sent by Austin and Hazel” She said showing me the present kept on the table in the sitting area.
Austin and Hazel…
Why did they send me a present?
I was filled with anger and resentment when I heard their names together. How dare they!?
I walked to the table and read what was written on the note attached to the perfectly wrapped box.
‘From Austin and Hazel with love, Sister Liliana, I hope you are doing well in the BloodClaw pack. I believe my brother–in- law must have been taking good care of you.

I snorted as soon as I finished the wretched message. What a cheap joke! They are inviting me to Austin’s crowning, ceremony?? Wasn’t I disowned and told to never come back again?
Now they are missing me? What a fucking lie. How much more is she planning on looking down on me? How dare they send this ominous present here?
“Julia, throw this box in the trash right now” I said bursting with fury and instead of Julia, someone entirely else answered.
“What are you telling your maid to throw away the first thing in the morning?” The great Luna asked surprised, walking inside my room uninvited and without informing me.
Why does everyone keep on walking inside my damn room uninvited right in the morning, even as if it’s a town square instead?
All three of them are completely alike, always coming rudely to see me for nothing important.
“Good morning Great Luna. I didn’t know you were coming to see me today” I said sarcastically and she smiled broadly instead.
“Good morning to you too honey. I came to see you because I was worried. I heard you got ambushed by rogues yesterday in the woods. It must have been terrible. Are you feeling better now?” She asked putting her hand on her chest, worriedly.
“Yes…it was an unfortunate incident but as you can see, I am alright now thanks to Damian. He saved me at the right time yesterday.” I answered watching her smile with no hints of exposing something.
I would have almost believed her facade if I hadn’t been warned about her by Damian.
“Yes, thanks to goddess. However, darling, you should have taken some warriors with you when going deeper inside the woods. It can get really dangerous”
Again with that ‘alone‘ and ‘taking a companion‘
“Yes, great Luna. I was mistaken. I thought I was inside the pack territory only and rogues wouldn’t be able to breach the pack borders at all but I was wrong. It almost made me feel as if it was an inside job” I said faking a smile just like her and
there it was.
A slight crack in her perfect mask.
“Yes, I will have Adrian tighten the security on the border and is that a present?” She smoothly shifted the topic to the present lying on the table.
“Yes, it’s a present sent for me” I answered and she beamed.
“Oh, that’s wonderful. Is it a recovery blessing sent by someone I know? Like a sweet gesture by Damian?” She asked excitedly and I held back my snort and a chortle
Sweet and Damian…no wonder she is his stepmother.
“No, great Luna. It’s a present from my birth pack” I answered and the look on her face completely changed.
