I was fairly upset, mad even at Damian after his cocky and spiteful behaviour at Doctor Green’s clinic and I had every right to be! Why did he even ask him about the pups?
Even if he did, who asks such…such questions that he asked!? He is completely insane, a jerk, nasty and, ugh! I ran out of words. What was he even trying to tell Doctor Greens in the end?
Jerk!
I throw the blanket off and angrily flip the page of the book I am reading when I notice both Julia and Anna shuffling nervously, whispering among themselves.
It’s the same situation as before. They are acting cautious around me because I somehow ended up in the same mood from before and it’s all Damian’s fault.
“Julia, Anna, what is it? You don’t need to be anxious around me” I say, keeping the book aside and both of them jolts.
“Luna, we were just thinking that, would you like to take a night stroll? The breeze blowing gently.
Anna suggested and although I am a bed person, I decided to take up on their offer and go for a stroll because I was feeling stuffy and cramped up because of my frustration.
Hope the breeze eases it up.
Julia draped a shawl around my shoulders and all three of us walked outside in the mansion’s garden. I have been here often and all the pathways have become familiar to me now.
“It’s a full moon tonight” Anna says excitedly and I look up into the sky.
The pale white moon shines, cascading its moonlight on the path below.
Alluring.
“Luna, would you like to go outside the mansion and take a look at the training ground?” Julia asks and I look at her confused.
Training ground? That’s the first I have heard of.
“I do not wish to sit inside a car and go somewhere. Walking here is nice” I answer and she quickly intercepts.
“The training ground is nearby”
“Nearby?” I ask and both of them exchange glances among themselves before showing me the way.
I follow them, slightly curious about the training ground because if it’s near our mansion, then how come I have never seen it? We walked a little far away from the mansion before we took a left and then there it was, a vast clearing nestled among the
trees.
“It’s not the official training centre for BloodClaw warriors but it is still in use and some of the warriors come by to train here” Anna said and I noticed some of the half–naked men practicing their combat skills and running around the circular track when suddenly a deep sonorous chuckle stole my attention away.

Damian!?

He was sitting there on the log stools, drinking with other men. They were having a beer. The beer bottles were kept in an ice bucket on a log bench and the men were drinking in large wooden mugs.
He was sitting far away but I could easily tell it was him.
He was laughing and chatting around with no sign of his usual boredom and the signature smirk hanging on his lips. He was genuinely laughing and enjoying the beer.
A second later, I also noticed Hudson among the men on the log stools. Now, I understand why I was brought here.
“Anna, Julia, you knew that Damian was here, didn’t you?” I asked them in a stern voice and both of them sweated, smiling nervously.
“T–That…b–both of you seemed to be on bad terms since the past few days and that’s why we thought that it would be nice if you made up…” How does me coming here is going to sort the differences between us?
These silly girls.
“It’s nothing like that, you were there with me in Doctor Green’s clinic this morning, weren’t you? Didn’t he say little disagreements like these mean nothing? You need not worry about anything. Now, we should leave” I said and turned around, about to leave when suddenly a feminine voice stopped me abruptly.
“Damian, you are here!”
I turned around and saw Lucia approaching the logs where Damian and his friends were drinking.
What is she doing there?
I stand there, hiding behind the trees, watching them. They are talking among themselves and I could make some of their conversation because of my supernatural hearing while half of it goes blur in the wind.
“I was looking for you everywhere‘ Lucia speaks coquettishly to Damian, trailing one of her fingers down his cheek.
I gasped, my eyes widening when I saw her flirting with Damian. W–What is she doing? W–What are they talking about!?
A–Are they!?
All sorts of thoughts ran amok in my head and my heart thudded against my chest making me tremble with speculations, assumptions and the vile truth in front of my eyes.
“Come on, it’s not like, you didn’t miss me as well. You didn’t forget—
Forget what!?
She suddenly leaned closer to his face and whispered the rest into his ear making me unable to listen.
They were too close. Close enough to kiss.
My fingers curled into tight fists, nails digging into my palms as I watched her flirt with Damian and him sitting there unmovable, watching her flirt with him.
He might as well be enjoying it!
I clenched my teeth refusing to let the tears fall.

She whispered more before giggling melodiously. I didn’t want to watch them for a second longer but I couldn’t move.

I stood there feeling my body shake with despair, anguish and anger. I didn’t have it in me to endure the betrayal for the second time. I am not a toy of the goddess!
My lips quivered and my eyes burned with hot tears, dripping endlessly. I couldn’t stop them just like how I am not able to stop them. She is flirting and touching him continuously and now—‘Gasp‘
My eyes widened when I saw her sitting on his lap.
What does she think she is doing!?

My muscles tense up, straining as I collect whatever strength in me to still stand and watch. My knees felt like falling off and the ground seemed to call me for an embrace as I witnessed my husband…I witness him.
I didn’t have it in me to complete that wretched sentence and tears poured from my eyes endlessly.
