Chapter 47
Damian

It wasn’t that I couldn’t understand what she was trying to propose. However, it was futile and completely so. Things don’t work the way she wants here.
Giving those slaves a little bit of power will make them dangerous and bearers of potential risks she was trying to ware ge about the last time. Liliana is too innocent and kind for BloodClaw.
“Damian, I understand that you don’t wish to lose power from your hands but what I am proposing just gives you M power which is organized and promises a good system everyone will be satisfied with.
You already have a lot of enemies…won’t it do you good to have fewer enemies?”
She sounded so desperate and worried on my account that I couldn’t help but find her lovely. However,
“Liliana, you don’t think that I found my enemies an eyesore, do you? Well, in a way they are but in a way, they also to my pride. I don’t mind having them”
I said and saw her holding back a rush of anger as she cooled her face with a forced smile.
She is clearly upset.
I held back a laugh which was threatening to spill out upon watching her jump from one emotion to another, the tense body language and tightly fisted hands.
I really wish to know her true thoughts right now.
“Still, it gets tiresome to compete with so many of them at the same time, no? My lord. After all, you still have many packs remaining on your list to conquer. So why not, ease your load?”
I smiled when I heard that subtle sarcasm or might I say, bold sarcasm.
“Are you mocking your husband right now, Liliana? Do I look like someone who loves to wage war 24/7?
“You told me to believe the rumours” She muttered under her breath in front of an Alpha with excellent hearing
I can’t seem to say whether it was smart or dumb.
“Anyhow, Damian. I would still request you to take a look at the plan. I am sure, it will catch your attention once you tip through a few pages” She said eagerly with a hint of desperation.
For the love of the goddess, I can’t understand why is she so hell–bent on this matter. What happened on her visit to the Slave sanctuary?
I wordlessly take the bundle of sheets back in my hand and flip through the first page, reading the few lines. Her presentation was clean and done nicely.
It was documented like an official document which tells she has worked hard.
‘We should send the people back to their pack lands, we have conquered and make their alpha act as our proxies. We will let them rule their lands. However, we will have a say in their every decision and we will get a part of their harvest, dairy and hunt every month.

We will increase our military by training them and having them fight for ourselves when needed. We will make them our people by using their manpower and resources in exchange for providing them a good life which would be different from rotting away in the cells of Slave Sanctuary.
Right now the ways they can help us are limited and they can’t do much for us instead of harbouring hatred and resentment. We are wasting their strength and resources by giving them menial work and a degrading sense of life‘
Such fancy and optimistic words.
“Liliana, there are many chances of an uprising and rebellions in your plans. You said we will give them military training so that we can use them later. However, what if it ends up harming us instead?
What if they attack us after learning how to fight because of the resentment and the sense of defeat?” I asked and she didn’t flinch, if anything, she grew more fierce,
“I am advising you to implement this plan before things end up reaching that point, Damian. We should start working before things escalate into what we are fearing.
Right now, their momentum is not vicious. They fear you, their conqueror and are upset with their living conditions. If we free them of their problems, they will slowly blend into their day–to–day lives without any problems.
They wouldn’t plan for revenge if we quickly elevate their problems. After all, werewolves always respect the strong. Once we settle them into their daily normal lives, they can even begin to respect you as their king”
She explained everything like a true diplomat and my word, her plan and way of thinking things were truly admirable. It was a well–thought–out plan which was thorough with no sign of gaps.
However, my mind was still in a conflict. I wouldn’t have examples left to spread my fear. Father always used to say, cruelty was the best way to settle your fear deep within people’s hearts.
But Liliana’s plan is also to do the same without needing to resort to cruel violence. Shall, I give it a chance?
My heart skipped a beat when I thought of taking a decision completely different from what my father taught me. An approach entirely different from what I have been taught and done till now.
“Damian, may I know where the dancers who performed the belly dance are? I didn’t see them in the slave sanctuary…” I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard her ask a question carefully.
My body tensed up when I heard her question. Why is she asking about that?
“They are under Richard’s care,” I didn’t tell her about the deal and was grateful when she didn’t pry further.
For the first time, I felt I was doing the wrong thing which I needed to hide from her. I even lost my fucking composure.
Fuck.
“Is there something else you wish for me to elaborate?”
“Tell me about this point here, what do you mean by appointing a secretary for the Alpha” I asked her a question while I was still distracted and she started explaining it to me passionately.
“Secretary will be the person we will appoint to each Alpha as a supervisor. The secretary will be our person who will take orders directly from us and keep in a way, an eye on the Alpha” She explained and I nodded, lost in my own thoughts.
My views were changing and my plans were changing which for the record has never happened before. I never went back once, I have thought of something and acted upon it, especially my words and yet I am considering cancelling the deal with

I have already pulled Christopher and Grayson to my side. Now, I will have to break Owen, Mason and Santiago’s friendship.
I will have to make them lean towards me in some way instead of using those girls.
Liliana would never agree and even hate it if she got to know about the deal.
Ah, fuck, I am going crazy.
I look up and watch her talk passionately about her plan. I wasn’t listening to any word of hers. I was watching her oceanic eyes glimmer with a light, I could never have, her kissable lips, which were a wine in themselves.
It was hard to take my gaze off them which were inviting me for a bite but then my eyes brushed through her attire, stopping at her chest for a good couple of minutes before giving her a full body caress and then returning to her lips.
“Alright, I will consider your plan. It’s quite impressive and practical. Then, I will be seeing you more in my office, every Friday in my cabin” And I promise, it won’t end with just a chat over these stacks of paper, dear wife.
“I will be always present right on time” She smiled happily and I mind–linked Hudson right away.
Cancel the deal with Elder Owen‘
hat? Why, Alpha!?‘
I disconnect with Hudson and cast a quick look at the clock.
“Let’s have lunch together. It’s almost time” I stand up and take her bag for her, guiding her to the special dining room where I dine with important guests and Elders.
