Liliana
What was I doing here in Great Luna’s office when I was preparing to have a party in my room? What about the food I told the chef to prepare on the occasion of ‘Damian accepting my plan‘? If it could be called any since the name is a bit weird.
However, what’s more important of all is, what am I doing here?
Did Great Luna have her own office in the first place? It’s the same office building as Damian and yet she has an entire floor to herself. Are they trying to keep their rivalry under covers by sharing the same office building?
I would never know but what I need to know is, again, ‘What am I doing here?”
When is she going to address the main subject here? Who is she even talking to on the phone, laughing out loud and bleeding my ears? After she has already put my heart on a throne bed of anxiousness born out of my unwillingness to be here.
In short, I am forced to be here when I should have been eating my chocolate cake, I put the chef into making it instead of staring at the old woman sitting in front of me who tried to kill me days ago.
She looks like she is talking to a friend she reunited with in ages. She is twisting the telephone cord as if discussing their new crush, who might be a grandpa and then she snaps it back on the table in surprise before howling with another laughter.
What’s even more absurd is no matter how much I try, I can still hear all the words and sentences she is spouting and it’s all about her dear son. The man with a leery gaze and a brother who steals his brother’s mate.
That’s who her son is.
“I have an important thing to do so I will talk to you later.”
Finally.
“Liliana, my daughter–in–law. Have you been well?”
“Yes, Great Luna.”
“That’s such a relief. You have been through a lot and I have a perfect way for you to rewind. I will tell you the good news when Damian comes here. I have sent someone to get him. He should be here any moment.”
It was as if Damian was standing right at the door when Great Luna was talking because as soon as she finished with that greasy smile, the door was banged open and Damian walked inside in angry quick strides.
I turned around and was thrust back into the chair in an instant when he held my shoulders and ran a worried gaze all over my body.
“Are you alright?” his voice was urgent and anxious.
I quickly nodded and he let out a much–needed puff of air before standing up straight and fixing great Luna with a deadly glare.
“What did you call us here for? And why is my wife sitting here in your office?” His voice was laced with an unhidden anger. His well–gelled hair was a mess and his face was a map of anxiousness.

Did he hurry here? Was he worried?
My heart skipped a beat and it felt as if a block of chocolate sat on the tip of my tongue, slowly melting and washing my tongue with its sweetness.
“It’s good to see you greet me with such a fervour, Alpha. How about you take a seat beside your wife? I have good news to tell you both.” Great Luna must be an ex–warrior as well, seeing how she withstood his aura and anger without batting an eyelash.
She even dodged his rude question gracefully making Damian look like the bad guy here from a third person’s point of
view.
He sank into the chair beside me wordlessly and kept glaring at the woman in front of her, who had also made herself comfortable in her plush swivel chair.
“I have received a gift and a letter from Liliana’s birth pack, the Crystal Moon. They are going to hold their Alpha ascension ceremony very soon and have invited all of us over.
Liliana has been through a lot since she has been here with us. I believe attending a joyous occasion of her pack will lift her spirits and act as a good way to rewind.
So, how about you both take a little vacation from all the work and attend the Crystal Moon’s alpha crowning ceremony?”
What…How?
How does she know about all of this? How could she receive an invitation from all people? Did Hazel send it? But how?
How much does she know about the BloodClaw pack?
“Alright, we will go”
I whipped my head at Damian when I heard him say ‘yes: I thought he would deny it! Can’t he see it’s something Great Lu is suggesting to do!?
I didn’t want to go. I knew what was going to happen there. I have nothing to do with the Crystal Moon pack anymore but I can’t tell this to Damian.
I can’t tell him that my father disowned him.
I curl my fingers until they dig into my palm and send waves of panic to my heart. I try to be calm and smiling to not let the great Luna get a whiff of anything but it’s impossible.
It’s impossible to do so with so many thoughts running inside my head.
“Liliana, are you alright?” I shook when Damian placed his hand over my fisted one and gazed at his concerned face with eyes wide with surprise.
He was calm yet concerned and in that split second, I wanted to tell him everything, the panic inside me, about Austín and Hazel, my father and everything I suffered in my pack before I married him when my brain stopped working and my heart took over but I held myself back.
Rationality took over and my sense prevailed. I shook my head, loosened my fists and smiled.
I tried my best I could, going somewhere near to what could be called a smile.
