Chapter 52
Liliana
“CrystalMoon’s life was spared and I got a Luna for my pack. It was a pretty successful deal, I believe?
He just wanted a Luna for his pack and he got one. That’s it. Wow, such a jerk. He only thinks of our marriage as a good deal.
I strode to where he was leaning haughtily against the bar top and stuffed his blazer into his arms.
“I am not feeling cold anymore. Thank you” Well, I was never feeling cold in the first place.
I instantly turned around and left him without another word. It hurt. It felt like someone was piercing my chest with something blazing hot. I knew he didn’t love me and ‘we are mates‘ doesn’t work on him either but it still hurts.
How can he be so rude and cold? He didn’t even word it like, ‘It was an arranged marriage but little did I know, it turned out to be the best thing in my life‘ but he just sees me as a good deal.
God, why is my nose tingly? Why do I feel like crying!? This is the worst. Shouldn’t falling in love feel amazing? Then why do I feel the worst right now?
“Liliana! Here!” I stopped when someone called my name. I found out it was Scarlett when I looked up and her face fell when she saw me.
“Liliana, what happened? You look like you are about to cry!” She sounded worried and I was almost about to lose it.
“Ah, Am I? I just had a drink while you were gone and it was extremely spicy. It must be the spice which got me to tears” I fumbled around with words but she seemed to believe me.
“That’s sad. I hope you are okay now. How about trying a sweet drink? I had juice and tasted good. Should I get one for you as well?”
“It’s alright. I will have it later. By the way, is she your friend, Skylar?” I asked after I noticed a lady with bright silver hair and deep blue eyes.
“Ah, yes! She is Skylar. She is my childhood friend. Skylar, she is Liliana. I met her at the party today. She is Alpha Damian’s wife”
“It’s nice to meet you. Scarlett has been talking about you ever since I arrived.”
“And she was talking about you before you arrived” Both of us laughed and Scarlett pouted.
“That’s not fair. Doesn’t it just say that I like you both?”
“Yes, sure do” Skylar teased and Scarlett pouted.
“Anyhow, enough with the jokes. Liliana, first of all, I will call you Lily. You will call me Letty and Skylar, Sky. Secondly, how about you join us at our little rendezvous?” Letty said and I quirked up my eyebrows.
“Rendezvous?”
“It’s our fun day out. We arrange it every month. We do a lot of fun things that day. From the morning picnics to the night’s sleepover! I will show you my other friends as well.
We enjoy it a lot. The best thing about our little rendezvous is always watching the warriors train. Their contours and

physical beauty are just on another level!”

“Don’t mind her, Lily. I will never understand why Letty thinks using her little hobby will be the biggest promotion for her fun day out. She does that with other ladies too” Sky shook her head, embarrassed for Letty.
“You are talking as if you don’t enjoy it as well, Sky! I clearly remember you regretting being betrothed to Alpha Carter because you fell for the newcomer’s abs” Letty fiercely retorted and goodness, Sky had been demoted to a tomato pulp.
“Oh my gosh, Scarlett. Sew your mouth shut! It’s not like that at all! Lily, she is drunk. Don’t mind her!”
Skylar was suffocating Scarlett right now who was trying her best to get her hands off her face but she wasn’t budging at all.
“It’s alright Skylar, I get it. How about you let Scarlett breathe now” I said and she quickly left her mouth, leaving her panting.
“How can you be so cruel” She spoke between mouthfuls of air, fighting for her life.
“How can you choke me like that!? I only said the truth and what’s wrong with enjoying a little something even if you are betrothed. Having a mate doesn’t mean you will stop looking elsewhere right?” Scarlett huffed and the word mate stuck in my head.
“Isn’t that cheating? A–And I didn’t say anything like that. I don’t regret being betrothed to Carter. So don’t go around saying that!”
“Geez fine. I won’t say it again and don’t kid me! It’s not cheating at all. It’s just called having a little fun. Anyway, if you are not going to come then it’s fine. You should protect your flawless loyalty.
I will enjoy my day outs with Lily from now on, right Lily?”
I snapped out of my thoughts and quickly replied to Scarlett who again got busy bickering with Skylar. However, I couldn’t be the peacemaker again because I wasn’t able to take my gaze off the crowd surrounding Damian.
He didn’t even call my name or come after me after I stuffed his blazer angrily into his arms. Did he not sense that I was upset? Or does he not care whether I am upset or not?
Look at him being the star of tonight. There are more and more gathering around him and now look at who…Hazel!? What is she doing near him? What are they talking about?
Should I go? But what would I do after going there? Flaunt myself as a good deal and tell about our affair to those who don’t know about it? Or worse get mocked by Hazel again and end up tearing her hair out after losing my calm?
Which of these sounds like the best option? Honestly the last one but then I would have to end up revealing everything to Damian, everything that I am hiding which is ultimately the reason why I had to come here in the first place.
All of this is so unfair!
Oh my god! Did that bitch just offer a drink to my husband!? I was about to storm off and take that drink from her hand and throw it on her face right away but I stood rooted to the ground.
It was becoming unbearable for me to watch. I didn’t want to see what Damian was going to do. I quickly turned around and stood with my back facing against them.
It wasn’t a good defence at all but it was still better than standing and watching without being able to do anything.
“Letty, Sky, you guys enjoy talking, I will be back in a moment,” I muttered and quickly left that place. I walked to one of the balconies and stood against the carved railing.

The wind swept through my open air and it helped me calm down a little. He was right, the wind was chilly but I needed the chill right now. My face was hot from all the anger.
I needed the coolness of the air as much as possible to simmer down my heat even if there was no cure for my brain.
Sometimes, I wish to separate my heart and my brain from my body. They won’t let me breathe, like now. It’s a disaster when both of them go crazy at the same time, like now.
Ugh!
Was falling for him a mistake?
“The balcony is occupied, Princess of CrystalMoon”
I flinched when I heard an unfamiliar voice speak to me. I turned to my left and saw a man dressed in a navy three–piece suit. He was a young man who looked like he was in his late twenties.
He had auburn hair and bottomless pitch–black eyes.
“I didn’t see a sign outside which said, ‘do not disturb.”
“The curtains were drawn and that’s the sign in the ballrooms for ‘do not disturb“”
This man was getting on my nerves. He had that strange unpleasant vibe to him.
“I didn’t know that. I will leave” Seriously what’s wrong with people today?
“I am Jeremiah Watts from Eldergroove. I am a wizard and I can sense magic within you”
I stopped with my hand still perched on the lever handle.
“It’s latent but I can you with that”
Help me wake up my magic when I absolutely loathe that I am half–witch.
“No, thank you, Mr Watts” The light from the ballroom peeked when I pulled the door handle but I couldn’t walk inside the
room.
“Even if I tell you, you might need it for your future”
His words were enticing and strange. I couldn’t help but turn around after locking the door again.
“What do you mean? Don’t talk in circles”
“I am a wizard and I also have a gift of prophetic dreams. How would you feel if I told you that I have been dreaming of you since these past few nights?
I also saw that you will attend this ceremony and that’s why I am here tonight”
I was shocked. What is he even saying!?
“Anyone would be shocked to hear that but doesn’t some werewolves have a gift of prophecy as well?”
“It’s a myth.”
“No, it isn’t. Prophecy and prophetic dreams exist. Well, I am a living example, aren’t I?”

What!? He expects me to believe everything he says? Even if I accept prophecy not being a myth. How can I accept him. witnessing me in his dreams?
This is crazy. I should leave.
“I am telling the truth. Then how about I tell you some of the incidents I saw in my dreams?”
I didn’t say anything but I stayed. He took that as a cue to start speaking again.
“How about I tell you that the sacred moondial test you were put through was intentional”
I reeled over so badly when I heard him that I jutted my neck out like a chicken with my eyes wide and lips slightly parted. Knowing about that incident is already an astounding statement but revealing that it was intentional makes it all the more
worse.
Does that mean great Luna knew about me being a half–witch and a half–werewolf? But who told her? And suddenly like a zap of electricity, her meaningful smile and the goady face from when she said, ‘about my invitation still being on the way‘ came to my mind which seemed to scream only one thing inside my head.
Great Luna has planted a spy in the CrystalMoon pack, someone whom I don’t have any intel about.
This is dangerous.
“What else did you see? Can you elaborate on the part where you saw it was done intentionally more?” I was desperate now. The man in front of me was no joke because no one, no one could be aware of the sacred moondial unless he was a member of the BloodClaw pack himself but I have never seen him.
He was not among those who greeted me. Nor is he a member of the pack. I am confident he isn’t…
“I am sorry but this is all I can tell you regarding this incident. I don’t experience vivid dreams but just some scattered fragments.”
I don’t know what came over me when I heard him that I ended up asking something like this to him.
“Then can you tell me about my future? Anything.” Anything like the possibility of Damian falling for me
“That’s a dangerous question, Liliana Robinson Edwards. However, I will have to leave you disappointed because I have stopped dreaming about you ever since I decided that I would come and see you tonight”
“Don’t phrase it like that and what do you mean, you stopped?”
“I am no longer shown dreams about you. They stopped a few nights ago and I am as confused as you and that’s why I believe there’s a string of fate between us which has led me to you”
“A string of fate? What are you talking about Mr Watts?”
“Then why else would I dream about you? I think there’s a purpose behind those dreams. I believe you shouldn’t ignore my offer to teach you magic.”
What rubbish is she spouting right now? The whole conversation feels so rushed and muddled, that I am not able to wrap my head around anything and then suddenly, as if to increase the haze of perplexity around me, the doors to the balcony clicked open with a harsh sound.
