I wake up to an empty side despite the sexiest and the hottest night of my life. I never thought we would do it in the moving car with Hudson driving it.
And that we would do it till dawn until I finally fainted in his arms and he brought me upstairs to our bedroom. The sunlight is glaringly harsh and scorching and I don’t want to wake up.
However, the sun is so annoying that I groggily get up. Last night is still fresh in my mind and my mind is fully awake despite my droopy body. I would have never imagined one of my worst nights to turn into something passionate and wild that wouldn’t allow me to think of anything else.
Most of my thoughts, self–pity and agony faded into Damian’s arms last night but the doubts and the resentment remained, tucked into a corner of my mind which melted and became a mush when his lips found mine.
I couldn’t think of anything when we were in the car except him, his hands on me, his fingers snakily and skillfully gliding on my skin and his lips leaving marks I would never want to vanish.
My heart thumped and thrived when he fed me his raw jealousy and possessiveness. It leapt and soared with joy when he passionately hugged and made love to me.
I felt that maybe it wasn’t the one–sided love I was experiencing. Damian might be feeling it, too. My fear of confessing my feelings fell back a little, and I found strength when he held me with gentle dominance.
I felt he was desperate last night, mad with desire and need and I loved every second of it but then he left me to wake up alone in the morning.
I huffed and kicked off the blanket, deciding to call Julia and Anna. I pressed the bell and only Anna opened the door.
We have gotten closer after the last incident when they witnessed me breaking down at Lucia and Damian’s misunderstood sight. They knew they were ex–mates but couldn’t tell me because it’s forbidden to do so.
Only Alpha Damian himself can speak on this matter and no one else. They hesitated and shared my pain. They were awake waiting for me at the mansion when Damian brought me back.
I told them everything later and they rejoiced. These two have been my only friends ever since I came here. They are some of the sweetest girls. I am lucky to have them as my maids and I can’t wait to tell them about my new friends as well.
“Anna, where is Julia?”
“Luna…her mother was unwell so she applied for leave in a hurry. She is visiting her mother in the town.”
My face morphed into a surprise and concern when Anna cautiously told me about Julia’s whereabouts.
“Oh my! Is everything alright? Is her mother in a serious condition? Have Doctor Greens look after her. Prepare my I will visit her”
clothes,
“No, no, Luna. Julia sent a message early morning that her mother was down with a common cold and there was no one to look after her because her father was out of town. She will be back by the evening and has asked you not to worry about her”
Werewolves don’t often suffer from colds until they hit 50. The elderly are more prone to such feeble diseases, which only affect humans.

I sigh and give Anna a nod. “Alright but be sure to tell me if anything happens without hesitation”
I stand up from the bed and oh my god, my spine feels like it will break! I fall back on the bed and it’s embarrassing to see Anna rush up to me as if I am injured gravelly.
Ugh! It’s all because of Damian!
“Luna, are you alright?”
My cheeks grow warm at Anna’s concern with shame and I nod my head.
“I will draw a hot bath right away” She runs into the bathroom as if it’s an everyday thing which makes me more embarrassed.

Anna and Julia are indeed aware of our active sex life and they are like sweet sisters to me now but it still feels embarrassing to wake up with a damaged back almost every day in front of them.
It takes about an hour until I am settled back in my bed, enjoying the cosy noon. I have had a delicious breakfast in my room and now I am holding my favourite book in my hand.
It’s a novel written by a human and I think I should mention one of the most important details. It’s a romance novel which showcases a human romancing a werewolf and it’s funny that humans have exaggerated a lot of stuff about us.
Some of the packs live with humans in harmony while some live in secrecy and packs like us simply make them our slaves if they dare trespass on our territory.
However, it’s a fact that humans are more in number than werewolves. Anyway, I need to switch up my political button and focus on this book, which I think has been written by a human who has no connection to our world because it at many points transcends reality.
For example, a werewolf never makes love to a female in their wolf’s form while she is human. That’s just a wishful imagination but it’s still spicy to read.
The dynamic between the wolf and the man is pretty interesting. It’s a story where the human form of the man can’t love the heroine for some reason, which by the way is the main plot but his wolf doesn’t hesitate in claiming his mate at all.
He is direct, dirty and honest about it. He takes over his human whenever he is about to push the heroine away and they end up making love which is again different from reality because a wolf and a human can never think separately.
Our wolves are a part of our soul. They are us but again, it’s a pretty good read which keeps you hooked to the end.
“Are you enjoying the book, Luna?” Anna asks from her shoulder while hanging the new dresses into my wardrobe. “Yes, thank you for the suggestion and are they the dresses from the Howl boutique?”
“Yes, they arrived half an hour ago”
I nod and go back to my book. Apparently, for a pack on the brink of a civil war, BloodClaw engages in many parties and balls. So, having a shelf full of glamorous dresses is a must as the Luna.
I quickly flip the page when I get to the argument part because I know where it will lead next. The—
‘Knock, Knock‘
Before my eyes can land on the most anticipated part, they fly to the door when the sound of someone knocking echoes in
the room.

I quickly go through the people who might visit me in my mind. I instantly feel disgusted to think it might be the trio, worse if Hudson and flips if it turns out to be Damian.
Sadly, not many people visit me and I have a list of limited people who might visit me but what’s more surprising is that it turns out to be someone entirely new when the door opens.
“Greetings to the Luna. I am Paul, Alpha’s subordinate and I have a message to deliver. Alpha has asked to see you in the forest of the Pine trees”
The forest of the Pine trees? Isn’t that the woods behind our mansion where I was ambushed last time?
Why is he asking me to see him there?
Questions fill my head but I don’t throw them at Paul because just as he said, he is just a subordinate. The one who will answer my questions will be Damian.
“Tell him, I will be there” I give him my answer and he leaves.
What is he planning to do? I get up from the bed and leave the warm blanket as I drop my book. I feel excited even when I leave the room confused to see Damian and amidst my confusion, I fail to notice one thing I should have noticed before.
Travis was already prepared with the car and I wondered whether it was necessary or not because the last time I went there, there wasn’t any path for a car to move.
However, I was wrong. The way to the pine forest tree was mesmerizing. It was the perfect road for a long drive. Why didn’t I know about this route before?
“Travis, has this road always been here?”
“Yes, Luna”
Goodness, this is going to be my favourite route!
We arrived in the Pine Forest faster than I would have on foot or paws. It was a pleasant 15-20 minutes ride and now I can’t wait to see what Damian has got for me.
The road didn’t end. It was more of it ahead and I wonder where it leads to. I am eager to explore but first I need to see Damian. Why has he summoned me here?
I get out of the car and walk through the tall–standing trees. It was the same part of the woods I had been to before when I was chased by those assailants and got saved by Damian later.
Nothing was different.
All of it was making me more puzzled. What is he planning to do?
Soon, I come across the bent trees and their mingling canopies. I lift the hanging vines and gasp when I see the sight in front
of me.
Near the lake, a picnic blanket lays with Damian sitting on it and a half–open picnic basket. I gawk at the sight in front of me and can’t believe my eyes for a second.
“You have arrived.” His solemn voice blending with nature was a confirmation I may have needed to believe all of this was
true.

Is it possible for one to stutter when they walk? I don’t know but it’s happening to me. My feet are stuttering and my eyes are frantically taking in the surroundings.
Covered by the trees on all sides, the hanging vines and bent canopies being the entrance and then the beautiful serene lake at the front. All of it is enchanting and a perfect location for a picnic.
“You arranged this picnic?” I ask, full of surprise and wonder when I sit on the crisscross blue and white picnic mat.
“You didn’t like it?” He asks and I shake my head so fast, one would think there are leaves stuck in my hair.
Well, we are in a forest and trees have leaves so…..
“No, it’s so beautiful and perfect that I couldn’t believe my eyes for a moment”
“You didn’t believe it was me who set it up?” He chuckles and my heart melts.
I remain speechless because that’s exactly what I was thinking. How can Damian the Edwards arrange something so romantic and peaceful like a picnic!!
“I thought visiting your pack would cheer you up but I ended up doing something worse. You love these woods and thus, I came up with the idea of the picnic.” He explains calmly and goodness, my stomach flips listening to him.
What’s going on!? He is acting so considerate and caring!
“Hudson and I were talking about how our security of the pack is being challenged and something needs to be done. I believed having a picnic in the same spot where we were threatened would be a good enough answer for everyone.” He sounds pleased with himself but dampens my excitement instead.
“So was it a strategic move for the pack…or something you came up with because of me?” My confidence vanishes after I actually ask something like that.
