Chapter 8
Liliana
“Who are they and what dance is this?” I found myself asking Damian after hesitating twice because the curiosity boiling inside me just wouldn’t simmer.
“Hmm?” He drawled, watching the dancers with a smile on his is as he sat relaxed, a leg on top of another and one hand curved beneath his temple while the other gripped the jewelled arm of his throne,
“You wish to ask about them?” He asked suddenly as he turned hi face in my direction. Now both of his hands rested on the armrest as he waited for my answer.
I was suddenly embarrassed when he asked me a question instead of giving me an answer, as if trying to confirm whether I really wanted to know or not when in the first place, I barely gathered the courage to ask him after hesitating twice.
He sounded amused and I wasn’t sure whether it was because he was happy, watching the dance or it was because of me…my question, I mean.
“Yes…I wish to know who are they and what dance is this” I stupidly repeated my question, averting my gaze away from him. His hand was now curved beneath his chin and I felt him staring at me.
“They are slaves and the dance, how about you name it” He said all of a sudden and I whipped my gaze at him, yelling, ‘Me? in my head
“Yes, you. You are the Luna of BloodClaw pack now and certainly some decisions must fall with you and naming one of your husband’s favourite dances as of now, is one of them” he finished and I felt a pang in my heart when he used such. affection for the dance in his words.
Why does he look so taken in with their performance? The dance is beautiful and it can be mesmerizing too if you are watching it for the first time but I don’t like it if he is the one watching it. Engrossed like that.
Suddenly the music sped up and the dancers swayed their bodies in sync without missing a beat. With every beat and rhythm, they moved their chest, belly and hips gracefully before swaying seamlessly like snakes.
For a second, I couldn’t believe my eyes, was it even possible to move your belly like that? They were vibrating to the rhythm of the music before they moved and performed another move
“What shall we name this dance, wife?” Damian asked again and I knew I quickly had to come up with a name because he wasn’t a patient man.
“We can call this dance, Swayario Dance‘ I spoke up instantly when I felt my mind click with the answer.
“Swayario? What does it mean?”
“Uh, Swayario…because their bodies are swaying beautifully with beats so, I thought it would make up a nice name” I answered meekly, feeling shy and nervous when suddenly I felt like he snorted but he laughed instead, chuckling brightly.
“That’s one unique name. However, this dance already has a name. It’s called, ‘Belly dance. Few of the humans, we captured, knew it. They soon taught the other slaves and prepared this performance for the ball.” Damian said before sipping on hist wine again.
Does he like drinking wine a lot? Ah, wait, slaves?

Chapter 8
“Slaves, you have slaves in your pack? Lasked and he looked at fe for a moment before he kepe the plass down.
“Yes, otherwise where else do you think the captured pack people go I wage war on other packs and conquer their land, making all the inhabitants living there my slaves his words were scary and his tone formidable as if he was trying to instal fear in me with his wonds.
“Y–You don’t make those packs your territory?” I stuttered a little because of the pressure he was exuding
They are my territory. Did you not understand what I said befor
“N–No if you make them your territory then why ilo you take the people as your slaves? fart slavery a cruel thing?” I asked timidly and his eyes narrowed a little before he brought his face closer to mine, making it harder for me to breathe.
“You sure are a funny one, wife. Aren’t wars cruel too?” his voice was mellow like silk but what he spoke was bitter as if charred..
“But I love them. I enjoy indulging in things which are cruel for you, Liliana. There is nothing such as cruel for me in this world. I embrace everything which is a danger in other’s eyes. I Damian Edwards is practically a definition of all those
words”
The performance ended as soon as he finished his menacing words drizzled with a lethal charm, leaving tingles shooting over my body as fear clouded my chest.
Everyone applauded and clapped and the performers left after bowing in front of us. The ball progressed further and now people had started introducing themselves to us.
“The performance earlier was a delight, alpha. I enjoyed it a lot One of the elders said, rubbing his hands in glee and the woman standing beside him suddenly jabbed him in the stomach.
“You enjoyed it quite a lot even when I was by your side! Your mate and wife! Alpha, you shouldn’t arrange such performances like this in the ball! My! how…how obscene was it The lady yelped before bringing both her hands to the slightly red cheeks.
“How can you say that, Aunt Hilda, the dance wasn’t obscene but beautiful and poor Jones is not at fault. I too enjoyed the dance. There is no harm in enjoying it.” Damian jested, talking to the old couple warmly which was surprising.
Does he know how to talk like that?
“How can you be like that Alpha? In front of Luna at that too! Ah, Oops, we forgot to introduce ourselves, didn’t we?” The old lady…Aunt Hilda, said when her gaze fell on me and she quickly introduced herself and her husband.
“I am Hilda and this is my husband, Jones. We are elders of the council. There are seven more like us. You will meet them eventually, Luna. It’s such a pleasure to meet you.” She said amiably with a warm smile as she held my hand in hers.
“I am pleased to see you both as well, Aunt Hilda and Uncle Jones I greeted both of them politely and their faces bloomed
“Luna, what is your opinion on the dance?” Aunt Hilda asked and I grew slightly nervous before I answered, no longer rubbing my fingers together
“The dance was indeed beautiful. It might appear a bit different the start but when you continue watching it, it’s an art you find yourself lured to. However, it’s also true that if one is not enjoying the dance as an art, they are enjoying it for another reason” I knew I was taking a big risk by voicing out my full opinion.
But I too didn’t like the way Damian was enjoying the dance as well, almost as if…he was only watching the slaves move their bodies seductively if not obscenely like Aunt Hilda said.

Chapter 8
“What that another reason might be, my Luna” Damian asked with his lips curved in a beautiful smirk and I blushed.
He was too handsome for a barbarian…
“What another reason? It’s to ogle those performers!” Aunt Hildburst out before scolding her husband again.
“It’s wrong when you have a mate!”
83%
“Mate, huh?” Damian chuckled darkly when Aunt Hilda mentioned mates, he didn’t look impressed with the notion but isn’t that true? You can’t see anyone besides the one fated to you, it’s natural, it’s the bond.
“It’s wrong when you have a mate, is that true, my Luna?” his deep voice slithered up my flesh and kissed my chest while his gaze fell on my face gently yet sensually, warming me up.
“Yes, mates are supposed to stay loyal. They are to protect, cherish and love their fated partners.” I answered and his smile deepened. He was almost grinning by now and none of it looked ugly on him if a little menacing.
“How can our Luna be so beautiful and intelligent at the same time? We are blessed to have you, dear” Aunt Hilda gushed, holding my hands warmly as she smiled.
I smiled back and was about to thank her when suddenly another slightly shrill voice interrupted us.
“If it isn’t my beautiful daughter–in–law”
