I pretended to have been dismissed by the company. Then, I started quietly collecting evidence of Darren and Eunice breaking the law.
I also collected all the information on the keyboard warriors spreading malicious lies about me and put them aside for safekeeping. I would wait for the right time to strike all at once.
However, before I even managed to plan my attack, Darren started getting active on Twitter again.
He posted, “Rational and independent women deserve to be loved. Women should all live for themselves. Marriage is just something beautiful that happens along the way when you’re in love.”
Eunice also posted on her Twitter shortly after. “It’s been another hard day at work for me!”
She attached a photo of her side profile while on set. She was sweating in her costume and makeup.
Their posts immediately made it to the top of the trending hashtags list. Many of their fans left happy comments on their posts.
“I’m so touched by what Darren said. That’s right! Women must be rational and independent!”
“Shameless women aren’t worth anything. I hope this serves as a lesson to all!”
“Eunice is so beautiful! She’s still working so hard even though she’s already so successful. She’s different from all the other fake wannabes in the entertainment industry!”
While the fans were busy ogling their posts, somehow my name got brought up very often in the fans‘ comments as well. They labeled me as the typical standard of the exact opposite of what women were supposed to be–hopeless romantics, shameless, and unable to live without a man by my side.
Of course, fans and non–fans alike only continued cursing and slandering me even further online.
By the time I was done compiling all the evidence, I was so angry that I laughed out loud. I bet Darren must have already forgotten how he got his first big hit
I remembered him as the industry’s nobody who couldn’t afford to pay the bills anymore. He had resorted to being a lowly host at a nightclub.
If I hadn’t been desperate to find a last–minute actor to play the part of my fiancé so my mother would stop nagging at me and dragging me out to blind dates, Darren would have never even seen the light of day!
Now that I thought of it, I’d spent three million dollars on a rotten egg like him. It just hadn’t been worth it at all.
My assistant, Penny Hope, was seething with me. Her eyes turned red as she exclaimed, “Ms. Vaughn, Darren is such a bastard! When are you planning to expose him?”
I pinched her on the cheek and said, “It’s fine. We’re not in a hurry. Let him have his fun for a little while more.”
I learned from my elder brother, Adam Vaughn, that Darren had just recently signed on to a live–streaming

variety show. Most interestingly, Eunice was also going to be guest–starring in it quite frequently.
Trailers of the variety show had already been released online. They served to hype up the community before the official broadcasting date of the show. Plenty of fans were looking forward to Darren and Eunice’s sweet collaboration on screen.
On the day of the broadcast, tens of thousands of fans swarmed the video platform to show their support. Darren and Eunice were teamed up as a pair in the first mission.
The staff then informed them that their mission was to spend their lives as regular people for one day with the amount of money they had in their assigned envelopes.
