Linda glanced at Rachel’s Hello Kitty pajamas and the mountain of snacks covering the coffee table, frowning slightly.
“You didn’t use to eat these, did you?”
Mentioning the past, Rachel pouted.
“It’s not that I didn’t eat them before–I wasn’t allowed to.”
“My weight was strictly monitored from a young age. I couldn’t eat this, couldn’t do that. I had to be graceful and poised at all times in public, never doing anything to disgrace the Fang family name. Always remember your status, they’d say.”
Rachel snorted with laughter. “Status? What status? I’m just an ordinary nobody.”
“Well, now I’m going to eat chips. I’m going to wear Hello Kitty. Whether my waist gets thicker or I have a little belly, I’ll still look great. As long as it doesn’t kill me or isn’t poisonous, I’ll eat it.”
Linda was amused by her rant and reached into the snack pile, picking out a lollipop and popping it into her mouth.
“Rachel, if you could design your ideal partner, what would he be like?”
“Handsome–preferably with that bad–boy charm. A great voice. Long legs, eight–pack abs,
spoils me rotten…”
As she spoke, her expression darkened, and she bit fiercely into a gummy.
“But most importantly, he has to love me. No cheating.”
Linda nodded thoughtfully and continued, “And… if he wasn’t human, what species would
you want him to be?”
“A merman!”
Rachel answered without hesitation before throwing herself into Linda’s arms, hugging her

waist and acting spoiled.
“He’s out there, right? He has to be! My merman husband is counting on you!”
Linda couldn’t argue with her antics and laughed helplessly.
“Yes, yes, he’s definitely out there.”
The One Tech, Conference Room.
Ivan frowned at the documents attorney John had handed him, remaining silent for a long
time.
His assets, shares, and funds had all been under Linda’s name–and now they had all been
donated to the foundation.
Which meant he now had nothing. His only option was to work for The One Tech and the
foundation.
And yet, somehow, he began to laugh.
The secretary, whose brow had been furrowed ever since attorney John arrived, now looked at Ivan with open fear.
Others might not have heard the rumors, but as Ivan’s secretary, he knew about Linda’s
abrupt departure.
“Mr. Martin? Mr. Martin?”
He couldn’t fathom how Ivan could be laughing and softly called out to him.
Ivan snapped out of it, closed the file, and slid it back to attorney John.
“I fully accept my wife’s arrangements. Please tell her that I will manage the company well
and wait for her to come back.”
