The mood softened. Grandpa looked at me.“You’re thinner. You’ve grown
up and changed.”
“I’m still your granddaughter. It won’t change.” I leaned on him, feeling
calmer.
Grandpa chuckled. “I thought you were gonna get married. Why are you
back?”
I shook my head. “He doesn’t deserve me. The wedding’s off.” Seeing his worried face, I added, “Jake’s bringing his parents over to discuss about our
wedding.”
Grandpa’s eyes widened.“That kid has been waiting for you, and now his dream finally comes true.”
