Seeing the fury in Silas‘ eyes, Brielle finally felt a chill of fear.
“Silas, if you’re looking for someone to blame, it should be Nadia! She’s the one who lied to you! Nadia never had cancer. She only came back when she heard about your success, hoping to rekindle things!”
She explained how Nadia had originally turned her back on Silas, thinking he was just a struggling researcher. After hooking up with a rich guy, she
disappeared.
But that rich guy was just playing around. He never planned on marrying her.
When Nadia’s dreams came crashing down, she learned about Silas‘ new success and, along with Brielle, made up the cancer story to get back in his good graces.
Silas‘ anger quickly morphed into disbelief as he processed what Brielle was saying.
He jumped up, eyes wide.
“No way… Nadia would never lie to me! She was always in the hospital, and I took care of her myself!”
Realizing he was still in denial, Brielle pulled out her phone and showed him Nadia’s hospital records.
As he scrolled through the absurd reasons listed, none mentioning cancer, Silas staggered back, collapsing into his chair.
Brielle pressed on. “Since you got fired, Nadia knew you weren’t reliable anymore and was ready to bail! If you don’t believe me, go check her place! You’ve been played for so long. You’re just a joke!”
Her words cut deep, piercing Silas‘ heart.
He kept muttering, “No way, Nadia couldn’t have deceived me…”
Seeing him like that, I quietly paid his bail and got him out.
But as soon as the handcuffs were off, Silas pushed past the officers and rushed toward Nadia’s house.
Not long after he left, my phone rang.
Without hesitating, I said to the person on the other end, “Follow him.”
An hour later, a private investigator sent me a video.
In it, Silas confronted Nadia, and it was clear they were in a heated argument.
Just as he arrived, he found Nadia frantically dragging her suitcase, clearly trying to escape.
