To Elian, Miranda’s medicine was worth its weight in gold.
He had never even asked Miranda for any, and now she was casually handing over a whole bottle to Hugo and
his crew?
She hadn’t even offered it to him, so of course, he felt a bit slighted.
Hearing this, Hugo and his friends waved their hands in refusal, too scared to accept, and tried to give the medicine back to Miranda.
They were worried that taking it would only lead to another round of punches later on.
Miranda thought for a moment and then said to Elian, whose jealousy was almost palpable, “How about I give you some later?”
She had made plenty of this topical medicine and still had a stash.
Even though she sold it in limited quantities on the black market, she wasn’t too picky about giving it away privately.
If it flooded the black market, it would lose its value and could have negative effects.
Her medicine was just too potent, exceeding the current medical capabilities of society.
Widespread use could disrupt the balance, like handing out invincibility potions – it would break the balance to certain degree, and break the natural order.
So, she always controlled the amount she put on the market.
But giving it away privately wouldn’t disrupt the ecosystem or market balance, so she wasn’t too concerned. Hearing her offer, Elian furrowed his brow. He was still not entirely satisfied, but his expression softened a bit. What bothered him wasn’t getting the medicine himself, but that Miranda had offered it to others first. Seeing Hugo and his friends holding the medicine and not daring to use it, Elian snapped frigidly, “If she gave it to you, hurry up and take it!”
The group, as if pardoned, quickly poured the pills into their hands and swallowed one each.
They didn’t even question if they might be ingesting poison.
Miranda smirked slightly. “Once you’ve taken it, keep the rest for next time.”
Elian knitted his brows. “Isn’t that a bit extravagant?”
Miranda shrugged, “It’s alright, I’ve got plenty of it.”
Elian was speechless. It sold for a fortune on the black market, and now it was being given to these brats, such
a waste. If they knew they were swallowing pills worth almost a million bucks each, who knew what their reactions would be.
Ignoring them, Elian turned to Miranda. “Wanna shoot some guns?”
Miranda uttered, “Hmm?”
Elian curled his lips. “I’ve got a shooting range here with all sorts of guns you can think of.”
Before Miranda could respond, Elian took her hand and led her towards another side. Her hand was entirely engulfed in his palm, his grip tight, as if he feared she might walk away.
Miranda didn’t resist and let him guide her away.
Seeing this, Jasper sprang to his feet to follow them.

But Brian and Aubrey grabbed him.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
They looked at him like he was clueless.
Jasper struggled against their grip. “Come on, guys, let go!”
But their arms were like steel, holding him tight.
Jasper had some skills, but against these specially trained guys, he was no match.
“I wanna see! Miranda’s an amazing shot! Aren’t you curious? She might be even better than your boss!”
Brian and Aubrey finally loosened the grip.
“Really?”
If that was true, they were definitely interested.
“I heard she can handle a sniper rifle too!” Jasper was eager to see for himself and wouldn’t pass up the chance, even if it meant risking getting struck.
Brian and Aubrey looked at each other again, and then released him.
And so, the three of them stealthily followed behind.
Hearing their conversation, Hugo and the others got curious too.
Miranda could really shoot?
“Whoa, it doesn’t hurt at all now!” Brian exclaimed in amazement.
His words brought everyone back to their senses.
Yeah, they didn’t hurt at all anymore.
They were completely fine?! As they checked their injuries, damn, they actually healed!
They moved around a bit, even doing a few jumping jacks.
Compared to before, it was like nothing had happened.
“What kind of drug is this?” Hugo marveled. “It works so fast!”
Brian echoed, “Exactly. No wonder Mr. Ashcroft was so upset. This stuff must be super valuable.”
Henry chimed in, “I’ve never heard of such fast–acting medicine. It’s like something out of a miracle.”
Hugo suddenly remembered something. “Wait… there is something like this on the black market,” he said, glancing at the small white bottle in his hand. “But each pill costs almost a million.”
